concluded between R. A. Pbtor, editor of the Richmond
South, and the proprietor of this paper, The States, by
which the South and the States are to be consolidated
into one paper, to be published in this city, in an enlarged
form , and to be under the editorial control of Mr. Pryor.
The paper will be Vie organ of no person or clique, but
denoted to the general interests of the Democratic party, in
accordance with the principles of State rights Democracy.
Mr. Prtor will undertake the editorial control of the
paper between the 2l)th of this month and the Ist of De
cember.

that it has been delayed by an accidental loss of an Impor
