or written on this Paper, as tlu* chemicals inserted in the
pulp not only prevent erasure or transfer, bill make it
lasting as time.
For Southern Climates it is excellent, and much supe
rior to any other; as the moistm-ss of tint climate does not
destroy it. —the properties inserted in the pulp being a
preventative. In all the southern states, Cubs, the West
ludies and the Central Americau States, no public records
can be kept over 20 years, written on the ordinary paper,
while the oils and other chemicals inserted in this Paper
makes it itidestiuctable by the ravages of time. It is also
proof against moths, rats and other vermin, which feast on
and destroy all other paper now in use.

DISKASKS OF THE LUN 0 A A N D TItKOA T
CUR A HIE B V INHA LA TIO .V.
Which conveys the remedies to the cavities in the
lungs through the air passages, and coming in dir.-ct
contact with the disease, neutralizes the tubercular
matter, allays the cough, causes a free and ea*v expec
toration, heals the lungs, purifies the blood, imparts re
newed vitality to the nervous system, giving that lone and
energy sn indispensable for the restorati'n of health. To
be üble to state confidently that Consumption is curable by
inhalation, is to me a source of unalloyed pleusurt*. It is
as much under the control of medical treatment as any
other formidable disease; nioetv out of every hundred
cases can becured iu the first stages, and fiity per cent in
the seeoud; but in the third stage it is impossible to save
more than five pur cent., for the lungs are so rut up by the
disease as to bid defiance to medical skill. Kvi-n, however,
in the last stages, inhalation affords extraordinary relict
to the suffering attending this fearful scourge which annu
ally destroys ninety five thousand persons in the United
States aloue; and a’correct calculation shows that of the
present population of tlie earth, eighty millions are des
tined to fill the Consumptive's grave.
OFFICE, 70 Wall St.
Truly the quiver of death lias m> urmw so fatal as Con
sumption. Iu all ages it has been the great enemy of tile,
tor it spares neither age nor sex. but sweep* off alike the
Tiruve, the beautiful, the graceful, and the gifted, liy the
help «I that Supreme Being, fiom whom coiueth every good
and perfect gift. I am enabled to offer to the afflicted a per
manent and speedy cure in Consumption. The first cause
of tubercles is from impure blood, and the immediate effect.,
produced by their deposition in the lungs, is to preveut the
free admission of air into the aircells, which causes a weak
ened vitality through the entire system. Then surely it is
more rational to expect greater good from medicines enter
ing the cavities of the lungs than from those administered
through tbejstomaeh ; the patient will always find the
lungs free and the breathing easy after inhaling remedies.
True, inhalation is a local remedy, nevertheless it acts
constitutionally, and with more power and Certainty than
remedies administered by the stomach. To prove the pow
erful and 1 direct influence of this mode of administration,
chloroform inhaled will entirely destroy sensibility in a
few minutes, paralyzing the entire nervpussystem, so that
a liuib may be amputated without the slightest pain ; in
haling the ordinary burning gas will destroy life in a few
hours.
The inhalation of ammonia will rouse the system when
fainting or apparently dead. The odor of many ot the
medicines is perceptible iu the skin a few minutes after
being inhaled, anti may be immediately detected in the
blood. A convincing proof of the constitutional effects o!
inhalation, is the fact that sickness is always produced by
breathing foul air. Is not this positive evidence that proper
remedies, carefully prepared and judiciously administered
through the lungs, should produce the most happy results?
During eightc-n years' practice, many thousands, suffering
from diseases of the lungs and throat, have been und-r
my car.-, and I have effected many remarkable cures, even
after the sufferers had been pronounced in tbo last stages,
aliic h fully satisfies me that sumption is no longer a
fatal di-i-ase. Sly treatment of consumption is original,
and founded on long experience and a thorough investiga
tion. My perfect acquaintance with the nature «»1 tnher
,-les, .vc. etiahhs in..* to distinguish, readily, the various
forms of disease that simulate consumption, and apply tin*
proper remedies, rarely being mistaken even iu a single
case, This familiarity in connection with certain patho
logical and microscopic discoveries, enables me to relievo
the lungs from the effects of contracted chests ; to enlarge
the chest, purify the blood, impart, to it renewed vitality,
giving energy and tone to the entire system.
Medicine* with full directions sent to auy part of the
United St.ites'.md Canadas by patients communicating their
symptoms by letter But the cure would tie more certain
if the patient skouhl.ji.iy me a visit, which would give me
an opportunity to famine the lungs and edabl- tin* to
prescribe with much greater certainty, and then the cure
could b* ( effected witln-ut inv seeing the patient agniu.

The greatest medical discov
ery OF THE AGE.—Dr. Kennedy, of Roxbury, his
discovered, in one of our common pasture weeds, a remedy
that cure*
from the worst Scrofula down to a common phnple.
He has tried it in over 1100 case*.and never failed except
in two rases, (both thunder humor.) 110 ha* now in his
possession over two hundred certificates of it* virtue, all
within twenty miles of Boston.
Two bottle* aro warranted to cure a nursing sore mouth.
One to throe bottles will cure the worst kind of Pimple*
on the face.
Two to three bottles will rlear tho system of Biles.
Two bottles are warranted to euro tho worst canker In
tho mouth or stomach.
Throe to five bottles are warranted to cure the worst caso
of Erysipelas.
One or two bottles are warranted to cure all humor in
tho Eyes.
Two bottles are warranted to cure running of tho ears
aud blotches among the huir.
Four to six bottle* are warranted to euro corrupt and
running ulcers.
One bottle will cure scaly oruptlon of the skin.
Two to three bottles are warranted to cure the worst
case* of ringworm.
Two to three bottles are warranted to cure the most dus
perato cose of rheumatism.
Three to four bottles are warranted to cure the salt
rheum.
Five to eight bottle* will cure the worst case of scrofula.
A benefit is always experienced from tho first bottle, aud
a perfect cure is warranted when the above quantity i*
taken.
Reader, I peddled over a thousand bottles of this In the
vicinity of Boston. 1 know the effect of it in every case.—
So sure as water will extinguish fire, so sure will this cure
butnor. I never sold a bottle of it, hut that sold another;
after a trial it always speaks for llsolf. Tii-re are two
things about this herb that appear surprising; first, that
it grows In our pastures, In some places quite plentiful,
and yet Its value has never boen known until I discovered
it In 184 G—second, that it should cure all kinds of htgnor.
Iu order to give some idea of the sudden rise, and great
popularity of the discovery, I wilt state that iu April, 1*53,
I peddled it and sold about six bottles per day—in April,
1554, I sold over one thousand bottles per day oflt.
Some of the wholesale Druggists who have been In the
business twenty aud thirty years, say that nothing In the
annul* of patent medicine* was ever like it. There is a
universal praise of it from all quarters.
In my own practice I always kept it strictly for humor*
—but since its Introduction a* a general family medicine,
great and wonderful virtues been found in it that I
never suspected. -A
Several cases of epileptic fits —a disease which was always
coosidered incurable, have been cured by a few bottles.—
0, what a mercy if it prove effectual in all case* of that
awful malady—there are but few who have seen more of it
than I have. „ ,
I know of several cases of Dropsy, all of them aged peo
ple, cured by It. For the various diseases of the Liver, Birk
Headache, Dyspepsia. Asthma, Fever and Ague, pain in
the side, Diseases of the Spine, anil particularly in disease*
of the Kidneys, Ac., the discovery has done more good than
any medicine ever knotvn.
No change of diet ever necessary—eat the best you get
and • nough of it.

able to compress into Taile mecum compass, the vory
quintessence of medical science on this important subject;
as the rewult of *ho experience of the most eminent phy
sicians in Europe and America is thoroughly domonstratod
in his own highly successful practice in the treatment of
secret diseases In many thousands of cases In the City of
Philadelphia nlone.
Tho practice of Dr. Hunter has long been, aad Btlil is,
literally unlxmuded, but at Iho earnest solicitation of .nu
merous pontons, ho has been Induced to oxtond the sphere
of his professional usefulness to the community at large,
through the medium of his “Medical Manual uud Hand
Book for the Afflicted.”
It is a volume that has recelvod thn unqualified recom
mendation of tho first physicians In the land, while many
clergymen, fathers, mothers, phliantroplsts and humanita
rians, have most freely extended Its circulation In all quar
ters whero Its powerful teachings would be likely tube
instrumental in the moral purlllcnllou and physical boat
ing of multitudes "tour people, ntnong tho young, volatllo
and indiscreet, otherwise the pride and llowor of thenatlon.
Tho author argues particularly, most strongly against
every specie* of *elf d>dll<um*nt, and warns puronta and
guardians, in smirching terms, to guard the young of both
sexes from the terrible rnnsequumv* concomitant of thcii
Ignorance of physiological laws and sexual imparities mid
irregularities, whether exhibited by precocious dovelopUi int
or arising from the vicious aud corrupting examples of
their school mates or othcrw so. To those who have been
already ensnared to tho “paths that tako hold on
hell,” a clear and explicit way is shown by which they may
secure a return of sound he ilth, and a regeneration of the
soul from its terrible pollution.
It is well known that thousands of victims are annually
sacrificed at the shrine of quackery— especially those suf
fering from Venereal or Syphilitic diseases —Stricturoa,
Seminal Weakness. Nervous Debility, ami the numerous
maladies which spring directly or less remotely from the
indulgence of carnal passions ami secret violations of Na
tUie. ,
In view r,f these frets, and when It is also considered
that about Iou.OUO persons die nnnnally In tho United
States of Consumption—a large majority being the victims
of the voluptuous indiscretions of their progenitors,
agreeably to tho Scriptural enunciation, that the sins of
the parents are visited upon tho children, even tr> the third
and fourth generation—The Author, imbued witli sentl
ments of enlarged philanthropy, will scarcely lie censured
for any effort to restrain the vice* of the age, by the bum
ble instrumentality of his Medical Manual.

HHONICS WON'T DO!—They never did
JL more than give temporary relief and never will. It is
because they don't touch the cause of the disease. The
cause of all and billions diseases is the atmospheric
poison called .Miasma or Malaria. Neutralize this poison by
its Natural Autidotc. and all disease caused by it disap
pears at ouce. Khodes' Fever and Ague Cure is this Anti
dote to Malaria. and moreover it is a perfectly harmless
medicine. The certificate of the celebrated chemist, J. K.
Chilton, of N*ew York, to this effect, is attached to every
bottle; therefore it it does tio good it can do no harm.
This Is more than can be said of Quinine. Arunnic, Or„iuy

JAS. A. KIkIDKS, Esq.—Dear Sir: Yours of ‘2d lust, is
at band. The Cure arrived late la.-t year and Ibo difficulty
in getting any one to try it was greaily increased from the
the fact that a remedy had been introduced which was
growing in favor with the public, as being better than, using
Quinioc. —not knowing I presume that the remedy they
used to escape taking Quinine, contained the Drug Itselt!
This remedy, (known as ‘•Smith’s Tonic,”) wouid invari
bly break an Ague, but it did not cure it. as.it would often
return with renewed vigor. Tills one circumstance I deem
ed iu your fav.ir, il l could institute a test comparison bo
tween it and your cure. The toll*.wing is tbe result:
Three persons took your “Cure,” all of which were cases

They had tried Quiuiue, aud other remedies, occasionally
missing a chill, but it was, {as iu all mkl» cases,) slowly
wearing them out, aud laying the foundation for othor and
severer maladies. I did succeed in effecting a radical cure
of all three or those cases with jnur renudy. and they have
not had a chill since. In all three of these case, tha
“Smith’s Tonic" had ht-n us„d, and would, as before sta

Rhode's Fever and Ague Cure, or Antidote to Malaria,
the only harmless remedy In existence, is equally certain
as a preventive, as a “Cure.” Take it when you feel the
