Having purchased the Patent for the exclusive right to j
manufacture and sell the new Chemical Paper in America,
invented and patented in England by nenry Glynn, a cel- j
brated chemist and officer in the British army, it is hardly
necessary to say that the Paper is recommended by Mr.
Kent, Assayer of the U. S. Mint, Mr. Lyman, of the New
York Clearing House, and Meade Brothers, extensive and
skilful photographers, 233 Broadway, N. Y. The latter say
that no imitation can be made on a check or bank note
printed on the Safety Paper. Below is our list of prices:
Bank Checks—3s cts. per lb.
Bank Bills—slB for 1000 Bheets.
Bills for 1000 sheets.

Bank and State Stocks—lo cts. per lb.
Bonds and Mortgages—4o cts. per lb.
Wills and Deeds—4o cts. per lb.
For wrapping Silks ancl other fine articles it is excellent,
as it prevents moths. 40 cents per lb.
For Indentures and Agreements—4o ceDts per lb.
All State and Connty Records should always be printed
or written on this Paper, as the chemicals inserted in the
pulp not only prevent erasure or transfer, but make it
lasting as time.
I For Southern Climates it Is excellent, and much supo
j rior to any other; as the moistness of the climate does not
■ destroy it,—the properties inserted in the pulp being a
preventative. In all the southern states, Cuba, the West
Indies and the Central American States, no public records
can bo kept over 20 years, written on the ordinary paper,
while the oils and other chemicals inserted in this Paper
makes it indestructable by the ravages of time. It is also
proof against moths, rats and other vermin, which feast on
and destroy all other paper now in use.
The Company have now in operation Mills in Morris
County, N. J., of about 300 horse power, and are able to fill
all orders for Paper at the shortest notice.
All orders for the Paper mustbe addressed to A. NICHO

taken into co-partnership, in my Dental practice.
Dr. S. T. PRIGG, recently of Baltimore, Md., and who has,
within the last three or four months, become a resident
Dentist of this city. The gentlemanly and accommodating
character of Dr. Prigg, his thorough and scientific knowl
edge of the various branches of the profession, bis superior
skill in-all its most delicate manipulations, together with
the high recommendations he brings with him from the
Professors of the Baltimore College of Dental Science, will
guarantee perfect satisfaction to all my former patrons
and all others who may place themselves under our treat
ment. By this arrangement we will have greater facilities
for a more prompt attention to alt our patients, which the
want of assistance has heretofore deprived me of the ability
to bestow.
Persons partial to the manipulations and advice of the
undersigned, ami who may feel a delicacy in calling for
his services at the Dental office, in tho»cvent of his not
being present, will please call at his Drug Store, No. 27
North Queen street, in the National House Building.

they are the first cause of Consumption, Scrofula and
many other diseases, and should be’ a terror to the human

IMPORTANT DISCOVERY

DISEASES OF THE LUNGS AND THROAT
Which conveys the remedies to the cavities in the
lungs through tho air passages, and coming in direct
coutact with the disease, neutralizes the tubercular
matter, allays the cough, causes a free ami nisy expoc.
torution, heals the lungs, purifies the blood, imparts re ;
newed vitality to the nervous system, giving that tone ami 1
energy so indispensable for tbe refltorati not health. To
be able to state confidently that Consumption i- curable by
inhalation, is to uie a source of unalloyed pleasure. It is
as much under the control of medical treatment as any
other formidable disease; ninety out of every hundred
cases can be cured in the first stages, and fitty per cent in
the second; but in the third stage it is impossible to nu e
more than five per cent., for the luugs are so cut up by tho
disease as to bill defiance to medical skill. Even, however,
in the last stages, inhalation affords extraordinary relief
to the suffering attending this fearful scourge which annu
ally destroys uincty five thousand persons in the United
States alone; and a correct calculation shows that of the
present population of the earth, eighty millions are des
tiued to fill the Consumptive’s grave.
Truly the quiver of death has no arrow so fatal as Con
sumption. In all ages it has been the great en,emy of lito,
for it spares neither age nor sex, but sweeps off alike the
brave, the beautiful, tho graceful, and the gifted. By tbe
help ot that Supreme Being, from whom enmeth every good
and perfect gift, I am enabled to offer to tho afflicted a per
manent and speedy cure in Consumption. Tho first cause
of tubercles is from impure blood, and the immediate effect,
produced bv their deposition in the lungs, is to prevent the
free admission of air into the aircells. which causes a weak
ened vitality through the eutire system. Then surely it is
more rational to expect gieater good from medicines euter
ing the cavities of tbe lung? than from those administered
through the* stomach ; the patient will always find the
lungs free and the breathing easy after inhaling remedies.
Ijuo. inhalatiou is a local remedy, nevertheless it acts
constitutionally, and with more power aud certainty than
remedies administered by tho stomach. To prove the pow
erful and direct influence of this mode of administration,
chloroform inhaled will entirely destroy sensibility iu a
few minutes, paralyzing the eDtire nervous systoin, so that
a limb may 1?* amputated without the slightest pain; in
haling the ordinary burning gas will destroy life iu a few
hours.
The inhalation of ammonia will rouse the system when
fainting nr apparently dead. The odor of many of the
medicines is perceptible in the skin a few minutes after
being inhaled, and may be immediately detected in the
blood. A convincing proofof the constitutional effects of
inhalation, is the fact that sickness is always produced by
breathing foul air. Is uot this positive evidence that, proper
remedies, carefully prepared and judiciously administered
through the. Inngs, should produce the most, happy result? ?
During eighteen vears’ pract ice. many thousands, suffering
from discuses of the lungs and throat, have been under
my care, and I have effected many remarkable cures, even
nffer the sufferers had been pronounced iu the last stages,
which fully satisfies me that consumption is no longer a
fatal disease. My treatment of consumption is original,
and founded on long experience and a thorough investiga
tion. Mv perfect acquaintance with tbe nature of tuber
cles, .to. enabbsme to distinguish, readily, the various
forms of disease that simulate consumption, and apply the
proper remedies, rarely being mistaken even iu a single
case, This familiarity in connection with certain patho
logical and'microscopic discoveries, enables me to relieve
the lungs from the effects of contracted chests; to enlarge
the chest, purify the blood, impart to it renewed vitality,
giving energy and tone to the entiro system.
Medicince with fuil directions sent to any part of' the
United States and Canadas by patients communicating their
symptoms by letter. But the euro would be more certain
if the patient skould pay me a vi?it, which would give me
an opportunity to examine the lungs aDd edable me to
prescribe with much greater certainty, and then the cure
conld be effected without my seeing the patient again.

The greatest medical discov
ery OF THE AGE.—Dr. Kennedy, of Rorbury, has
discovered, in ooe of our common pasture weeds, a remedy
that cures
EVERY KIND OF HUMOR,
from the worst Scrofala down to a common pimple.
lie has tried It in over 1100 cases, and never failed except
iu two cases, (both thunder humor.) 110 has now in his
possession over two hundred certificates of its virtue, all
within twenty miles of Boston.
Two bottles Are warranted to cure a nursing sore mouth.
One to three bottles will cure the worst kind of Pimples
on the face.
Two to three bottles will clear the system of Biles.
Two bottles are warranted to cure the worst canker in
the mouth or stomach.
Three to five bottles are warranted to cure the worst case
of Erysipelas.
One or two bottles are warranted to cure all humor in
the Eyes.
Two bottles are warranted to cure running of the ears
and blotches among the hair.
Four to six bottles are warranted to cure corrupt and
running ulcers.
One bottle will cure scaly eruption of the skin.
Two to three bottlos are warranted to cure the worst
cases of ringworm.
Two to three bottles are warranted to cure the most des
perate case of rheumatism.
Three to four bottles are warranted to cure the salt
rheum.
Five to eight bottles will cure the worst case of scrofula.
A benefit is always experienced from the first bottle, and
a perfect care is warranted when the above quantity is
taken.
Reader. I peddled over a thousand bottles of this in the
vicinity of Boston. I know the effect of it in every case.—
So sure as water will extinguish fire, so sure will this cure
humor: I never sold a bottle of it, hut that sold another;
after a trial it always speaks for itself. There are two
things about this herb that appear surprising; first, that
it grows in our pastures, in some places quite plentiful,
and yet its valuo has never been known until I discovered
it in IS46 second, that it should cure all kinds of humor.
In order to give some idea of the sudden rise, and-great
popularity of the discovery, I will state that in April, 1*53,
t peddled it and sold about six bottles per day—in April,
1851, I sold over one thousand bottles per day of It.
Some of the wholesale Druggists who have been in the
business twenty and thirty years, say that nothing in the
annals of patent medicines was ever like it. There is s a
universal praise of it from all quarters.
In my own practice I alwrys kept it strictly for humors
—but since its introduction as a general family medicine,
groat and wonderful virtues have been found in it that I
never suspected.
Several cases of epileptic fits—a disease which was always
considered Incurable, have been cured by a few bottles.—
0, what a mercy If it prove effectual in all cases of that aw
ful malady—there are but few who have seen more of it
than I have.
I know of several cases of Dropsy, all of them aged peo
ple, cured by it. For the various diseases of the Liver, Sick
Headacbo. Dyspepsia, Asthma, Fever and Ague, pain in
the side. Diseases of the Spine, and particularly in diseases
of the Kidneys. kc., the discovery has done more good than
anv medicine ever known.
No change of diet ever necessary—eat the best you get
and enough of it.
Directions For Use. —Adults one table ap<v>nfol per day
—Children over ten years dessert spoonful. Children from
five to eight years, tea spoonful. As no directions can be
applicable to all constitutions, take sufficient to operate on

The practice of Dr. Hunter has long been, and still is,

It is a volume that has received the unqualified recom

Tho author argues particularly, most strongly against

TONICS WON’T DOl"They never did
more than giro temporary relief and never will. It is
because they dou’t touch the cause of the disease. The
cause of all ague and billions diseases Is the atmospheric
poison called Miasma or Malaria. Neutralize this poison by
its Natural Antidoic. and all disease caused by it disap
pears at unce. Rhodes’ Fever and Ague Cure Ik this Anti
dote to Malaria, and moreover it is a perfectly harmless
medicine. The certificate of the celebrated chemist, J. R.
Chilton, of New York, to this effect, is attached to every
bottle: therefore if it does no good it can do no harm.
This is more than can be said of Quinine, Arsenic, orany
tonic in existence, as their use la ruinous to the constitn
tion and brings on Dumb Ague, which never allows a per
son to feel perfectly well for a single moment. In illustra
tion of these truths I anuex some extracts Irom a letter
Just received trom a Physician :
Georoetowx, Ohio, March 18,185 Q.
JAS. A. RHODES, Esq.—Dear Sir: Yours of 2d Inst. Is
at hand. The Cure arrived late last year and the difficulty
In getting any one to try it was greatly Increased from the
the fact that & remedy had been introduced which was
growing in favor with the public, as being better than utdug
Quinine, —not knowing I presnme that the remedy they
used to escape taking Quinine, contained tho Drug Itself I
This remedy, (known as “Smith’s Tonic,”) would invari
bly break an Ague, but it did not cure it, as it would often
return with renewed vigor. Tills one circumstance I deem
ed io your favor, if I could institute a test comparison bo
tween it and your cure. The following is the remilt:
Three persons took your “Cure,” all of which were cases
of“Quotidlanlntermltteut Fever,” ofnmay weeks standing
They bad tried Quiniue, and other remedies, occasionally
missing a chill, but It was, (as in all such cases,) slowly
wearing them out, and layiogthe foundation for other and
severer maladies. I did succeed In effecting a radical cure
of all three of these cases with your remedy, and they have
not had a chill since. In all three of the&e cases the
“Smith’s Tonic” had been used, and would, as before sta
ted, break the chill, but after a period or two had elapsed
would return.
I think there will be no difficulty now in giving to yonr
“Cure” the advantage ground of any other remedy now in
use hero, A., Ac. WILLIAM BUCKNER, M. D.
Rhode’s Fever &nd«kgue Cure, or Antidote to Malaria,
tho only harmless remedy in existence, is equally certain
as a preventive, as a “.Cure.” Take it when yon feel the
chlllfl coining, and yon will never have a single one.
