49-THS OREATBBT DISCOVERY OP THE AGE.-g*
PROFESSOR WOOD'S HAIR RESTORATIVE.—This
Preparation, although leiu than tvo yean befbr* the pub
c, owing to its wonderful jffeets upon the human hair and
sealp, baa already obtained a celebrity and sale perfectly
anparallellod. It haa without the ordinary appliance uaed
tor such purposes, won ita way, knd been heartily welcom
ed to moat or the eitiea and towns in the United States the
Oanadaa, and the West India Islands. Nor is this result
surprising, when it is remembered that its popularity is
based upon Its merits, solely as established by actual tests.
That this preparation will actually RESTORE GRAY HAIR
TO ITS NATURAL COLOR, produce a luxuriant growth
upon the boads of the bald, prevent the hair from falling
off, and when used as a toilet article, produce a continual
flow of the natural fluids, and thus render the hair soft,
glossy and wary, destroy diseases of the scalp, and expel
dandruff, the certificates of distinguished gentlemen and
ladles, In every part of the country who hsve tried it, and
therefore speak what they know, most fully attest.
MiLToan, Worcester Co., Mass., Nor. 13th, 1356.
Prof. 0. J. Wood—Dear Sir; I take pleasure in bearing
voluntary testimony to the magic effects of your wonderful
Hair Restorative. As fer back as 1836 my hair comment* d
felling off, until the top of my scalp became bald and smooth
as glass, and it has continued to fall for a great many years,
notwithstanding I have used many celebrated preparations
tor Its restoration. Seeing your advertisement, I was in
duced to give your article a trial, and tomy utter astonish
ment, I found after a few applications that my hsdr became
firmly set and assumed a very glossy and beautiful appear -
aoee; and, by the time I had used a quart bottle full, my
bald head was covered over with a young and vigrrous
growth of hair, which Is now from one to two; Inches In
length, and growing very feet.
i ours truly,
Prom the Boston Herald.
' BoMßTnxxa Wobth Khowikg !—By using Profeisor Wood’s
Hair Restorative, gray Hair can be permanently restored to
taociginal color. The subjoined certificate wu received from
Johnson k Stone, Gardener, Me., and is but .lone of the
many Instances that are daily coming to our knowledge of
its wonderful effects. It is no longer problematic, but a
•elfevldent truth, as hundreds e*n testify.
Gabdiksb, Me., Jane 22d, 1845.
Mr. H. Dim—Dear Sir: I hart used two bottles of Prof.
Wood’s Hair Bestoratlre, and can truly say It is the great
est dlseovery of the age for restoring and changing the Hair.
Befcre using It I was a man of seventy. My hair-has now
attained Its original color. You recommend it to the
world without the least fear, as my case was one of the
worst kind. Tour*/ respectfully.
DANIEL N MURPHY.
ClfcLTLl, HL, 1 June 2T.
I have used Prof. 0. J. Wood’s Hair Restorative, and liars
admired its wonderful effect. My hair was becoming, as I
thought, prematurely gray, but by tbe use of his Restora
tive it has resumed its original color, and I have no doubt,
permanently so. - SIDNEY BREUSE,
Ex-Senator United States.
The Greatest Discovery of the Age.—lt seldom occurs,
that we notice, under any circumstances, patent medicines,
restoratlvet, or anything of the kind, for we have a preju
dice against most of them. But candor compels us to In
vite attention to the advertisement of Prof. Wood’s Hair
Eoitorative. We are too juvenile to require anything of
the kind, but some Instances of its use have come to our
knowledge which almost assure us that it is a sovereign
remedy against tbe hair becoming prematurely gray. It Is
■et a 11 Hair Dye;” but upon Its application as directed, the
effect Is produced on the skin, which brings out the orlgin
aal native colored hair, without stiffness, and gives it a glos
syand natural appearance. We haveaeen persons who have
wed it, and they are much pleased with It. —Mittouri Ne>

DEATHS.
Died at his residence, in New Hope, Pa., on the 9th of

Ift seldom falls to our lot to record the demise of any one
so very universally respected and regretted. A more ex
emplary and upright eltlsen was not amongst us—his pre
empts and example were ehlning lights, hla morality and
religion were of the purest character*. He was a commu
nicant of the Pint Presbyterian Chnreh in Philadelphia.
John Huffnagle was born of German parentage in the
«ity of Lancaster, Pa., on the 22d day of August, 1778. In
early life he was connected with the Ann of Price, Wleter
k Prioc of Philadelphia, where he continued for five years.
In 1801 he commenced business on hls own aoeouot ss a
wholesale Importing Merchant at the comer of Vlfth and
Market streets, whsrs h# continued for forty years—after
which he purchased that bsantiful and romantic mansion
of tbe late Win. Morris, Esq., where hs enjoyed In the eve
ning of hls dsys all the oomforts and happiness that Earth
ean give.
Hla son (now Consul General fbr the East Indies) from
time to time presented him with the rareet curloalties
of the old and Eastern world, whieh were carefully arranged
and displayed for the benefit and gratification of hls nu
merous friends and neighbors.
The community mourns a loss that cannot be supplied.
He was, perhaps,.the very last of that old lime of venerable
Philadelphia Merchants, and sneh were his habits of strict
punctuality, that at the time of hls death, he was not in
debted to any one the value of one eent. Hls death wa s
the peaceful sleep of an Infant—not even making an effort
to retain life a moment longer.—Cbrnmunicatsd.
