Houses,--A special Court of Quarter Sessions for Lancaster
county will be held at the Court Rouse, on the first Mon
day (the sth day) of May next, for the purpose of hearing,
applications and granting licenses to keepers of hotels, inns
or taverns and eating houses, in pursurince'of the recent
act of assembly.
Petitions for license must be filed In the office of the clerk
of the Quarter Sessions three weeks before the above na
med day. The Court has established the following rule
April 4th, 1856. Ruled by the Court, That in application
for tavern licenses, all testimony of witnesses ofibreil to the
Court must be by depositions, taken upon at least tin clays
notice, published once a week for two successive weeks in a
newspaper, published nearest to the place where such tav
ern is intended to be kept, and in at least, five notices looted
throughout the city, borough or township, where the tav
ern is intended to be kept, and in the most public places
thereof, of which fact au affidavit, together with a copy of
the notice shall be attashod to the deposition. And all dole

been hoard of him. If living, he is entitled to a legacy
from his Mother's estate, who died about a year ago,
which, if not called for, according to the will of the deceas
