The squalid babe whose food that mbrn
She vainly sought to beg.

Every thing with them is joy t nd hope
'And promise. They little dream that_ '
Buried in the future, there niay\zet remain,
Some shadow darker than the dreary tomb,
To rest on them, to quench the fire of their
Ey e,and dampen energies now strong and vigorous,
And- o>er the soul hang like a gIO - Ciary pall,
Crushing. the drops of life from out the heart
And rendering every moment sad and sorrowful.
The gloom of night will hush the loud festivity,
And, save the few who linger far behind
To join the later revelry, each one will return
Unto his quiet home, prepared to wait another
New Year's advent, e'er they renew their
Festive joy. The cares of lifei its' profitable
Pursuits and labors will absorb their minds,
And all forgetful of the Old Year's grave,
Or New Year's birth, they'll - still press on
The roulade of life, and toil for wealth,
For honor and a name to leave
Behintl them when they're dead.
'Twits said by one whose wisdom is high
Held in estimation, that the social
G atherings of a people, tend to improve
The State, and strengthen the strong sinews

And thought and sentiment, found \
At the lestiiie board, Will make life dearer,
And more sweet, and furnish zeal
And energy to liberty's defendants.

one of the most invaluable Medicines in the many
complaints to which .females are subject. It as

Less suffering, disease and unhappiness among La

to,, are restored by the use of a bottle or two, to
bloom and to'viger.
