Paints differ from. all others in the market; they are not clays; they require little' Oil, flow easily, and cover with a heavier- body than white lead. They 'neither crack nor peel, and dry readily, making an ENAMEL or STONE. COLORS.—We have seen different colors, viz: three Browns, two Chocolates, Black and Yellow, and by combination make every Variety and shade of color. BODY.—These Paints are superior in body (or covering property) to any yet dis Covered, and pound for pound will cover double the surface of white lead, zinc, or ether metalic Paints. IRON.—To Iron they furnish a perfect protection against rust, for they contain metal, which like lead acts destructively on the iron; in fact this Paint makes iron doubly 'valuable for building pur poses. BRICK WORK.—They give to house walls a much heavier coating than other paints, and if sanding is required, nothing holds so firmly or fin ishes so well with it. OLD ROOFS.—Give us a roof, ever so old and leaky, and Silver's Mineral Paints will make it cheaply new and more enduring than it ever was. SHIPS using this extraordinary Mineral as we prepare it for them, will be proof against the ac tion of hot sons, worms and salt water. CAPITALISTS and BUILDERS are invited to make strict scrutiny into the merits of these Paints. They will find a very great reduction might be made in the cost of Painting. These Paints are purely mineral; all clays and other impurities are washed out in preparing them for the market.— 'Fhey cost but half the price of white lead, and the ' same quantity will cover twice the surface, and last six times as long which in fact reduces the price to one-twelfth. Climate has no effect on this Paint, and is equally valuable in the cold Canadas or our sunny Florida. DIRECTIONS.—Use Linseed Oil, mix as thick as you can, and use as other paints. These paints need but little dryer, and for priming and second coating in all house work they will be found far cheaper and more durable than lead. Dealers and consumers can procure this Paint wholesale and retail of FRENCH & RICHARDS, N. W. Corner 10th and Market Streets, Phila , d. For the Cure of Consumption NEW SYSTEM AND NEW REMEDIES!!! NUTTALL , S SYRIAC UM. The cure for Coughs, Colds, Sore Throat, Hoarseness, Tickling in the Throat, Spitting Blood, Difficult Breathing, Bronchitis, Incipient, Confirmed, and Tubercular Consumption. In three bottles. Each one particularly adapted to each one of three stages of Cohsumpton. To the afflicted the ap pearance in three bottles of Nuttall's Syriacum is. a new era in Medicine= from its novelty and direct opposition to the old, absurd and inconsistent one bottle system; while its success, prepared in this manner, (each bottle containing a different prepara tion,) in curing the aifferent stages which charac terize Consumption, has established the welcome truth of the curability of every stage of pulmonary Consumption. 0:1 - Physicians approve of it because it is based upon correct Physiological and Pathological prin ciples. V-The Public approve of it, because it is com mon sense, and because they know from sad ex perience, that one preparation will not cure the three stages of Consumption. The suffering, disappointed, and discouraged invalid approves of it, because its principles hold out a reasonable hope, and when he uses NuitalPe Syriacum, his hopes are realized. If he is in the first stags of Consumption and uses the first bottle, his expectoration, difficult and painful, becomes free and easy, his cough soon gets well, the Soreness, ijkling in his throat, in flammation, pain in his breast, side, head, back, joints, and limbs are removed = If he is in the second stage and uses the second bottle, his fever leaves him, his disturbed slum hers become sweet and refreshing, his night-sweam vanish, his expectoration, copious and bloody, assumes a healthy appearance, and at length dis appears, his bowels become regular, hie appetite returns, the flush in his cheek disappears, the burning heat in the palms.of his hands and soles of hie feet, are felt no longer, his cough now ceases, he recovers and is well. If ho is in the third stage, and uses the third bottle, his Diarrhea gradually ceases, his weak bowels become strong, his cough and other bad symptoms disappear, (and if the patient is a female, her monthly periods return,) his feeble digestion becomes strong and vigorous, his stomach recovers its power and tone, and creates new, rich, and nourishing blood, his strength returns, his wasted body is clothed with flesh, his life is saved', and he is restored to health. Each bottle of NuttalPe Syriacum has the symp loins of the stage for which it is intended printed in front of the wrapper, whereby every invalid • knowing his own symptoms, can judge for himself which bottle he requires, consequently no mistake can occur in selecting the proper medicine. • 0 -See Pamphlets in possession of the Editor of this paper. containing Dr. NuttalPs Pathology of Consumption—Lecture on the Structure and uses of the Human . D., in the clerk's Office of the District Court for the Eastern Dia trict of Pennsylvania. Another Scientific Wonder! GREAT CURE FOR DYSPEPSIA ! Du• J. S. HOUGHTON'S EPSIN'i The True Digestive Fluid or Gastric Juice ! TIISREPAREI.) from Rennet, or the fourth Storn i ach of the Ox, after directions of Berton LIEBIG: the great Physiological Chemist, by J. S. Hough ton, M. D., Philadelphia, Pa. This is a truly wonderful remedy for Indigestion, Dyspepsia, Jaundice, Liver Complaint, Constipa tion, and Debiltty, curing after Nature's own method, by Nature's own Agent, the Gastric Juice. Half a teaspoonful of Pepsin, infused in water, will digest or dissolve, Five Pounds of Roast Beef in about two hours, out of the stomach. PEPSIs is the chief element, or Great Digesting Principle of the Gastric Juice—the solvent of the food, the purifying, preserving and stimulatiug agent of the stomach and intestines. It is extracted from the digestive stomach of the Os, thus form ing an Artificial Digestive Fluid, precisely like the natural Gastric Juice in its chemical powers, and furnishing a complete and perlect substitute for it. By the aid of this preparation, the pains and evils of Indigestion and Dyspepsia are removed, just as they would be by a healthy etomach. It is doing wonders for dyspeptics, curing cases of Debility, Emaciation, Nervous Decline, and Dyspeptic Con sumption, supposed to be on the verge of the grave. The scientific evidence upon which it is based, is in the highest degree curious and remarkable. SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE Baron Liebig in his celebrated work on Anima Chemistry, says: artificial Digestive Fluid, analogous to the Gastric Juice, may be readily prepared from the mucous membrane of the stom ach of the calf, in which various articles of food, as meat and eggs, will be softened, changed, and digested, just in the same manner as they would be in the human stomach." Dr. Pereira, in his famous treatise on " Food and Diet," published by Fowler & Wells, Now York, page 35, states the same great fact, and describes the method of preparation. There are few higher authorities than Dr. Pereira. Dr. Combe, in his valuable writings on the " Physiology of Digestion," observes that "a dim• inution of the due quantity of the Gastric Juice is a prominent and all•provailing cause of Dyspepsia;" and he states that "a distinguished professor of medicine in Loudon, who was severely afflicted with this complaint, finding everything else to fail, had recourse to the Gastric Juice, obtained front the stomach of living animals, which proved com pletely successfull." Dr. Graham, author of the famous works on "Vegetable Diet," says: "It is a remarkable fact in phgsiology, that the stomachs of animals, mace rated in water, impart to the fluid the property of dissolving various articles of food, and of effecting a kind of artificial digestion of them in nowise different from the natural digestive process." AS A DYSPEPSIA CURER, Dr. HOUGHTON'S PEPSIN has produced the most marvellous effects, in curing cases of Debility, Emaciation, Nervons Decline, and' Dyspeptic Consumption. It is impossible to give the details of cases in the limits of this advertisement ; but authenticated certificates have been given of more than Two Hundred Remarkable Cures, in Pnila delphia, New York and Boston alone. These were nearly all desperate cases, and the cures ware not only rapid and wonderful, but permanent. It is a great Nervous Antidote, and particularly useful for tendency to Billions disorder, Liver Complaint, Fever'and Ague, or badly treated Fever and Ague, and the evil effects of Quinine,Mer cury and other drugs upon the Digestive rgans, after a lor.g sickness. Also, for excess in eating, and the too free use of ardent spirits. It almost reconciles health with intemprance. OLD STOMACH COMPLAINTS. There is no form of Old Stomach Complaints which it does not seem to reach and remove at once. No matter how bad they may be, it gives instant relief! A single dose removes all the un plea'sant symptoms; and it only needs to bo repeated short for a time to make these good effects perma nent. Purity of Blood and Vigor of Body follow at once. It is particularly excellent in eases of Nausea, Vomiting, Cramps, Soreness of the pit of the Stomach, distress after eating, low, cold state of the Blood, Heaviness, Lowness of Spirits, Des pondency, Emaciation, Weakness, tendency to Insanity, Suicide, &c. Dr. HO UGHTON' S PEPSIN is sold by nearly the dealers in fine drugs and Popular Medicines, throughout the United Snxtes. It is prepared in Powder and in Fluid form—and in prescription vials for the use of Physicians. PRIVATE CIRCULARS for the use of Physicians, may be obtained of Dr. Houghton or his Agents, describing the whole process of preparation, and giving the authorities upon which the claim of this new remedy are based. As it is not a secret remedy no objection can be raised against its use by Phy siCiarts in respectable standing and regular practice. Price ONE DOLLAR per b.dile.
