PHILADELPHIA, Saturday Ecening
F . /Jaya—The flour market is non , active. The
export demand is firm, and good brands have
been disposed of at $4,37 per barrel. The sales
for city consumption have been made at $4,50 a
$4,75, and is in demand. There is: no Rye Floe r
here. It is worth $3,50. Corn Meal $3,121 ,
Gala:v.—The demand for Wheat has been limi
ted, but prices are unchanged. Sales of good and
fine Pennsylvania Red at 90a93 cts. per litishel,Rye
prime White .at $1,2. The market is Wei of Rye
and Corn, and they are wanted.
• CLOVEILSEED.—CIoverseed is dull 'F a sale of 200
bushels, not strictly prime, at $5,00 per bushel.
CATTLE Motrcex.—The demand for cattle con
tinues somewhat limited, but prices have an up
ward tendency. Beef,Cattle offered, at $6,00 to
$B,OO per 100 lbs., the latter price for extra quality.
Cows and Calve—axles of Fresh Cows at $lB to
30, Springers at $l2 to'24, and Dry Cows at $7 to
13. flogs—The Hog market is rather more active;
sales at $6,00 to 6,50 per 100 lbs. Sheep and
Lambs—The market is dull ; sales of the fernier at
$1,25 to 4,00 and the latter at $1,50 to 3,00 as in
quality.

one of the heirs of John Mohler, late of Ephrata
township in the county of Lancaster, Pa., who
died intestate :
And now, February 4th, A. D. 1852, on the pe
tition of John Mohler, one of the heirs of said John
Mohler, deed, the Court grant a rule on the heirs
and legal representatives of the said.deed, viz:
Jacob Mohler, Rachel Mohler, ElMs Mohler,
Emanuel Mohler, George Mohler, Jr., Nancy Coov
er, Mary Snavely and Elias Snavely, to appear in
the Orphans' Court of Lancaster county, to be held

An Ordinance
Requiring the Mayor to give security for the faith
ful performance of the duties pertaining to the
Wire and for other purposes.
SEC. 1. Be it ordained and enacted by the citi•
tens of Lancaster . in Select and Common Coun
cils assembled, That from and after the passage of
this ordinance any person who may be elected
Mayor of the city of Lancaster, shall, before en
tering upon the perform . ance of the duties of that
office, give bond with two or more sureties in the
sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars, conditioned for
• . .
the true and faithful performance of the duties of
the office—which bond shall be approved by:Coun
cils, and after such approval shall be placed by the
President of the Select Council in the hands of the
City Treasurer.
Sec. 2. That after the approval by Councils of
his official bond the Mayor shall, before entering
upon the performance of the duties of the office,
take the necessary oath or affirmation in the pre
sence of Councils in Convention assembled.

SEC. 3. That all permits and licenses granted,
and all receipts given by the Mayor for monies
accruing to or intended for the use of, the city,
shall hereafter be countersigned by the Treasurer,
who shall, after countersigning any such instrument,
charge the amount received thereon to the account
of the Mayor. And it shall further be the duty of
the Treasurer to call upon the Mayor at least
twice in each year to pay over to him all monies
which shall have been received by the Mayor for
the use of the city, and upon failure on the part of
the Mayor to pay over all monies received by him
as aforesaid, when required so to do by the Trea
surer, the Treasurer shall as soon thereafter as is
practicable, give notice thereof in writing, with a
specification 'of the items and amount of default,
to the city Solicitor.

Lancaster, on the 29th day of January, A. D. 1852.

An Ordinance
AUTHORIZING Henry Miller and John Miller
to erect a Slaughter House on the rear of a
lot owned by Mary Miller, in West King street.
SEC. 1. Be it ordained, &c., that Henry Miller,
and John Miller be, and they are hereby authorized
and permitted to erect a slaughter house on the
-rear of the above named lot, situated in West
King street fronting on Mary street, in said city,
under and subject to the regulations and restrictions ,
of the ordinance entitled “An Ordinance respect
ing Distilleries, Slaughter Houses," &c., passed the
18th day of May, A. D. 1832. Provided neverthe
less, that this ordinance shall not take effect until
at least three property holders on Hach side ad
joining the lot on which the slaughter house is pro
posed to be erected, shall first give their consent
in writing; and provided further that the said Henry
Miller and John Miller shall first pay into the city
treasury the sum of ten dollars to defray the ex
pense of publishing and recording this Ordinance.

Lancaster, , on the.29th day of• January, A. D. 1852.

By the Act incorporating this Company, the
parties insuring property therein are entitled to a
share of the profits of the Institution, wjthout sub
jecting themselves to any liability beyond the prem
ium paid.
The Capital Stock and subscription Notes are
pledged by the Charter for the payment of (ones ;
and the profits of the Company are directed to be
invested and remain in the possession of the Cor
poration, as a fund for the thrther security of the
assured. This bind will be represented by Scrip,
bearing an interest of six per cent. divided among
the Insured and Stockholders, pro rata, upon the
amount of earned Premiums and Capital Stock.
