    - Murderous-' Affray awd : Hxa.tr.— Baltimore,
A£»;,6.—'There a-mjDiilerous affray, at the polls
in the r*rhird. Ward this evening. Some difficulty
occurred between Charles Janbes and Francis Con
noly, in which James .stabbed the latter inflicting
a severe wound; in;the Inngß. -.After inflicting the
blow, James ran a few; steps and fell, and when
picked up a severe' wound was found in his breast,
and from which he died almost instantly. His
owq knife was found immediately under him, and
some doubt is entertained whether he was stabbed
by Connoly in the affray, or by tailing on his own
weapon.-

Dreadful Occurrence. —Baltimore Nov. 5. —
We learn from Winchester, Va.,that a most dread
ful tragedy was enacted there on Friday last. It
appears that Joseph P. Flemister wentto the house
ol a neighbor, Nathan Mulliken, with whom he
had previously had a quairel. He found Mulliken
with a loaded gun in his hands, and soon after the
quarrel was renewed, and blows- passed between
them. Mulliken was finally thrown to the ground,
and, while down, called to his son, a lad about 17
years of age, to fire at Flemister. The young man
did so; but the load, instead of taking effect on
Flemister, entered the father’s side as he was lying
upon the ground, and caused .death in a few hours
after.

Considerable of a Family. —A notice of the
death of Philip Fishburn, a faithful soldier of the

The following particulars have since been furnished
to us. His precise age was ninety six years, nine
months and twenty-four days. He was the father
of eighteen children— eight of whom are dead—
geventy-ffive grand children, and sixty-one great
grand children, amounting to one hundred and fifty
four in all! Twenty-six of these are dead, and
one hundred and twenty-eight still living, among
whom are some of the staunchest farmers of Cum
