unanimously adopted.

remove from this life, our late worthy arid esteemed
brother, Dr. George B. Kerfoot, D. D. G. M. f

Resolved, That while we bow with submission
to this bereavement, we feel pleasure in bearing
testimony, that for a perioc( of; fifteen years he had
been a member of this‘"’Lodge,and the zeal and de
votion with which he performed his duty as a Ma
son, made him second to jjone in the Lodge.
Resolved, That we sympathise with the family
of the deceased, on our mutual loss, but are com
forted with the reflection, that his deportment thro,
'life is the best evidence that our loss is his gain.
Resolved, That as a mark of our unfeigned sor
row, and affection for his our Lodge be
clothed in the habilaments 'of mourning for the
space of six months. <
Resolved, That a copy jof these resolutions be

in this place, (if patronized,) to teach the French

more than sixteen years, both in France and in the

The Greatest Triumph Yet.
AT the great State Agricultural Fair of New
York, held at Rochester, Sept. 16 to 19,1861,
Bamborough’s Grain Fan received the highest hon
ors—-being a splendidly engraved diploma, signed
by J. Delafield, Fres’t, and B.P. Johnson, Sec’y
of the State Society, and a volume of the Transac
tions of the New York State Agricultural Society,
signed by the same officers.. This was the greatest
Fair ever held in the United States, there being
about eighty-thousand people present, and the dis
play of Agricultural implements exceeding all pre
vious exhibitions—among which Bamborough’s Fan
stood pie-eminent, as was unanimously admitted
by the thousands who examined it.
This was a glorious triumph for Jno. Bamborough
of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, over the best imple
ments of New York.
These Fans are still manufactured by the sub
scriberi in Lancaster city, Pa., and forwarded to
any part of the country.

Public Sale of Real Estate.
ON SATURDAY, the 26th of October, 1861, in
pursuance of an order of the Orphans’ Court
of Lancaster county, will be sold by public vendue
at the late residence of Robert Drips, dec’d, in
Colerain township, said county, on the road leading
from Pusey’s Mill to Steelesviile, about.two miles
from the termer place, the following real estate, vix:
No. 1. A plantation or tract of land in Colerain
township, containing 128 ACRES, more or less,
adjoining lands of Josephßobinson, Ross A. Camp
bell and others—-40 acres of which iB fine timber
land; the balance is farm land,'clear of stones,:
under good fences, has been well limed.and is in
a good state of cultivation, convenient; to mills,
churches, school houses, limestone, &c.,and with
in six miles of the Philadelphia and Columbia
railroad. The improvements are a large
two story DWELLING HOUSE, a
Barn, a stone Still House, a large frameiiLLUiL
Whiskey House—also, a frame stable, Corn Crib,
Spring House, with a never-failing spring of water,
and a well with a pump in the kitchen of the

No. 2. A tract of 112 acres, more or less, ad
joining lands of Dr. George T. Dare, Dr. John
Eshleman and tract No. 1, in Colerain township—
-20 acres of which is fine timber land, the balaoce
is (arm land under good fences, hasbeen well limed
and is in agood state of cultivation. The improve

a Log Barn, and Hog House, with a never-failing
spring of water. There is also on No. 2, a Log

Joseph McClelland and No. 2 in Colerajn township,
all wood land and chiefly chesnut timber, which is
all fit to cut at the present time. No. 3 will be
sold in iota of 5 acres each, and those who desire
lots for furnishing rails, &c., can be fully accommo
dated. The east branch of the Octoraro passes
through the above tracts of land, and affords beau
tifuf sites for machinery propelled by water power.
- No. 4. A tract of Three Acres of cleared land,
more or less, adjoininglands of Dr. George T. Dare,
Samuel Smith and others, in Colerain township.
