JACOB BUEHLER. 45-ly Call and examine for yourselves. EMANUEL METZGER 44-tf Lancaster, Nov. 26. NO other Medicine has ever been introduced to the public that has met with such unparalelled success, as Dr. Soule’s Oriental Balm Pills. — Having been but six years before the public, and the advertising small when compared with most other medicines, yet they have* worked their way into every State in the Union and Canadas. They have absolutely become the standard Medicine ot the day. They are purely vegetable and so admi rably compounded that when taken in large doses they speedily cure acute diseases, and when taken in small doses they operate like a-charm, upon the most delicate, nervous female, and have raised numbers from their beds when all other remedies had tailed. We here refer to buta few of the many miraculous cures effected by the use of said Pills. Spinal Affection. —Anna Wood, of Rutland, Jefferson county, N. Y;, was cured, after she'had been confined to bed 5 years, with Spinal’ disease and Abscess of the Lungs. The bill of her regular Physician (Dr. Johnson, of Clay,) had amounted to $6OO. See circular. Scbofula and Nervous Debility. —Mrs. Down, of Clay, N. Y., 'was cured of Dyspepsia, Nervous Debility, and Scrofulous affection of the head,'alter she had been confined six months and all other medicines had failed. JAMES GEIDNER. Cough and Consumption Cured. —Wm. Bently, of Pickering, C. W., was cured of a severe cough alter he had been confined to his bed for a;long time, and was given up by the Physicians. He had used most oi the cough medicines of the dayj and was supposed by his friends and physicians to be in the last stage of Consumption. Dyspepsia. —A. B. F. Ormsby, of Syracuse, N. Y., was cured of Dyspepsia, so severe as not to be able to work for, two years. Wm. Smith, of Greenwich, Conn., was cured of a severe case of Dyspepsia, Costiveness and Nervous Debility, of years standing, after expending large sums of money to no purpose. See circular. BEWARE OF COUNTERFEITS. As there are spurious Pills in circulation called Oriental or Sovereign Balm, be sure to see before you buy that he tname of “Dr. E. L. In this preparation arc strongly connected all the Medicinal properiies of Sarsaparilla, combined with the most effectual aids, the most salutary pro ductions, the most potent simples of the vegetable kingdom ; and it has been so fully teste'd, not only by patients but also by Physicians, that it has received their unqualified recommendations and the approbation of the public; and has estab lished on its own merits a reputation for value and efficacy far superior to the various compounds bear ing the name of Sarsaparilla. Diseases have been cured, such as are not furnished in the records of time past; and what it has already done for the thousands who have used it, it is capable of doing for the millions still suffering and struggling with diseases. It purifies, cleanses, and strengthens the fountain springs of life, and infuses new vigor throughout the whole animal frame. The following striking and, a 3 will be seen, per manent cure of an inveterate case of Scrotula, commends itself to all similarly afflicted: Southport, Conn., Jan. 1, 1848. Messrs. Sands: Gentlemen—Sympathy for the afflicted induces me to inform you of the remarka ble cure effected by your Sarsaparilla in the case of my wife. She was severely afflicted with the scrofula on different parts of the body ; the glands of the heck were greatly enlarged and her limbs much swollen. After suffering over a year" and finding no relief from the remedies used, the: dis ease attacked one'leg, and .below the knee suppu rated. Her physician advised it should be laid open, which was done, but without any perma nent benefit. In this situation we heard of, and where iuduced to use Sands’ Sarsaparilla. The first bottle produced a decided and favorable effect, relieving her more than any perscription she had ever taken, and before she had used six bottles, to the astonishment and delight of her friends, she found health quite restored. It is now over a year since the cure was effected, and her health remains good, showing the disease was thoroughly eradica ted from the system. Our neighbors are all know ing to these facts, and think very highly of Sands’ Sarsaparilla. Yours with respect, JULIUS PIKE. Extract from a .letter received from Mr. N. W. Harris, a gentleman known in Louisa county, Va. “ Gentlemen—l have cured a negro boy of mine with your Sarsaparilla, who was attacked with Scrofula, and of a scrofulous family.” Yours truly, N. W. HARRIS. Fredericks Hall, Va., July 17, 1848. Sands’ Sarsaparilla. —lt seems almost unne cessary to direct attention to an article so well known, and so deservedly popular, as this prepa ration, but patients often who wish tb use the ex tract of Sarsaparilla are induced to try worthless compounds bearing the name, but containing little or none of the virtue of this valuable root; and we think we cannot confer a greater benefit on our readers than in directing their attention io the ad vertisement of the Messrs. Sand® in another col umn. The bottle has recently been enlarged to hold a quart, and those who wish a really good article will find concentrated in this all the medi? cinal value of the root. The experience of thous ands has proved its efficacy in curing the various diseases'Tor which it is recommended ; and at the present time more than any other, perhaps, is thi medioine useful, in -preparing the system for a change of season. —Home Journal, Sept. 1848. Charles Robinson, Esq., Easlon, Md„ ip a let ter to Dr. Jackson, January 9,185 ll! said— “My wile and myself have received more bene lit Irotn your medicine than any hther we have ever taken for the Dyspepsia and Liver Disease." The Tenth Legion, published at Woodstock, Va., January 10, 1850. said— I A GREAT MEDICINE. We have uniformly retrained front recommend ing to the public any of i lie various Patent Medi cines ol the day, unless thoroughly convinced ol 'heir value. Among those we consider worthy of notice is the German Bitters, invented by Doctor Hoofland, and prepared by Dr. Jadkson, in Phila delphia. One instance in particular, in which the superior virtues of this tnenicine have been tested, lias lallen under our observation. iDufing ilie last summer, a sun ot .Mr. Abm. Crnblll, ol this coun ly, was very seriously afflicted with Liver Com plaint, and alter trying in vain various remedies, he purchased a bottle of the Billers, and after using it, was.so much relieved of his distressing malady, that he procured another bottle, and iB re stored entirely to health. I READ FURTHER A FEW FACTS. From ihe iVeldon Herald, published at Weldon, N. C., January 24, 1850, whirhlsaid— PATENT MEDICINES. It is very seldom ihat we makti any allusion to Patent Medicines, either approving or otherwise. Unfortunately lor the country, and for honest and conscientious inventors and venders of these med-'- ici.nes, theland is becoming flooded preparations, that are made alone for profit and are fit nor even for the dogs. In this state of things it is hard to tell which are, and Which are not worth having. If a personnels an indifferent med icine the first lime he purchases} he is very apt to condemn the whole of them and buy no more, and inventors must only blame thosi of their number, [who ignorantly combine plain medicines together lor the purpose of making money,] for the ill suc cess which attends .he efforts o| the deserving. We believe Dr. C. M. Jaqkeon’s Hoofland’s German Bitters to be a most excellent medicine, and one that should be highly popular in these days of Temperance; lor they are altogether Veg etable in their composition, vjithout one drop of Alcoholic Spirits in them. This medicine is inno cent, but strengthening in its|efiecta, and richly deserving of an unbounded popularity, which, when it becomes known, it will, no doubt, fully enjoy. j * Judge M. M. Noah said, in his Weekly Messen ger, January 6, 1850. j Dr. HooJlujid's German Bitters.— Here is a preparation which the leading presses in the Union appear lo be unanimous in recommending, and the reason is obvious. It is made after a prescription furnished by one ul the most celebrated physicians of modern times-tile late Drj. Under these cir cumstances, we feel warranted, not only in calling the.aiiemiuii oi our readers to the present .proprie tor’s [Dr. C. M. Jackson’s] preparation, but in recommending the article to the afflicted. MORE EVIDENCE. 'I he Philadelphia Saturday Gazette, the beat family newspaper published in the Untied Stales The editor says oi j DR. lIOOt'LAND'S GERMAN BITTERS: It is seldom that we recommend what are termed Paient Medicines to the confidence and patronage of our readers ; and therefore, when we recom« meijd Dr. Iloofland’s German Bitters, jve wish it lobe distinctly underaiooJ i hut we are not speak** ing of ihe nosirums of the 'day, ihm are noised about fur a brief period and then forgotten after it has done its guilty race ol mischief, but of a med» icine Jong estabshed, universally prized, and which has met the approbation ol the faculty itself.
