of Physicians ignorant of this class of maladies. It
is certainly impossible for one man to understand
all the ills the human family and subject to. Every
respectable Physician has his particular branch, in
which he is more successful than his brother pro
fessors, and, therefore, to that he devotes more o{
his time and study. Dr. Hunter is known to be
the most successful practioncr in the United States
in diseases of the sexual organs.
YEARS OF PRACTICE exclusively devoted to

BRANT’S INDIAN
PULMONARY BALSAM
Cures vay many of the most strongly marked and developed
cases of Pulmonary Consumption — ukai., undoubted cases of
ulcerated and diseased LUNGS-*- such hopeless cases as were
never before cured by any other medicine. So utterly hope
less were some of the afflicted persons, as to have been pro
uounced by physicians and friends to be actually dying
Some, who had their burial-clothes made, have been cured,
and yet live—others, who it was said would not live another
day, are now as well and hearty as they ever were.
ft possesses all the cleansing and purifying virtues nearly
as powerful and active as the preparation which we call
BRANTS INDIAN PURIFYING EXTRACT.
This differs from that, because this possesses seecrol other
Medications which are peculiarly adapted to, and are essential
ly necessary, to cure
Coughs and Consumptions,.
and all diseases of a pulmonary nature—such diseases as
usually prove so fata* under ordinary treatment, when they
attack the
Breast, Throat, Lungs, nud Heart.
This BALSAM heals and cures Ulcers in the Lungs, and
else where internally, as certainly and easily os the Purify
ing Extract cures and heals ulcers externally. This Bal
sam cures nine cases of Cough and Consumption out of ten,
after all other remedies have failed to do good.
Thousands of Consumptions
and Chronic Coughs, abundantly prove its unfailing efficacy
in such diseases, and its undoubted curative power, and
southing, healing properties, in the following complaints and
diseases, viz.: Spitting of Blood, Bleeding at the Lungs, pain
in the Breast and Side. Night-Sweats, Nervous Complaints, Pal
pitation of the Heart, Cholera Infantum, Dysentery and Sum
mer Complaints in Children and Aduits, Asthma* and ALL
FEMALE WEAKNESSES AND COMPLAINTS.
No remedy that has been offered to the public has ever
been half as certain and correcting ALL the inci
dental weaknesses end irregularities of the female sex, ud
BRANTS PULMONARY BALSAM. It makes no differ
ence whether the derangement be suppression, ercew, or
other incidental weakness— it regulates ALL, by strengthen
ing the system, equalizing the circulation, and soothing and

CONSUMPTION.
A Dying Woman Cured!
We elate this cure to prove the power to save life, when
this BALSAM is used, even after the person is considered .
by physician and friends to be in the last stages of dlaetue
—actually dying— and, in this case, so far gone that the
shroud and burial-clothes were bought. For the particulars
of thia case, and the respectable and undoubted proof of all
the circumstances and facts, we refer to our PAMPHLETS
This cure was effected on Mrs. ZIBA DYKEMAN. of Ball ..
ton Spa, Saratoga Co., N.'Y. We can prove, beyond a doubt.
many others almost equally as hopeless, and innumerable cases
of Coughs and Consumptions CURED, which were pro
nounced incurable by skilful physicians.

Dyspepsia!
See the cure of T. S. WHcoz, merchant, of Attica. Wyoming

Dysentery and Summer Complaint
in Children and Adults are always cured. Weakly Children
will beeom ejltshu, healthy, and hearty , and grow rapidly, by
ihe use of this BALSAM.
No mother, need ever mourn the death of her child by
Cholera Infantum, while teething, if BRANT'S PUL

PURIFYING EXTRACT.
Ye*, the desfred result and efficacy will be produced iiy
the use of a smaller quantity of this Pcrikieu than can be
etlorted by the use oi a like quantity of any other remedy
in the world. (See our Pamphlets for proof.)
This Purifier is wholly prepared from Vegetables, and
cures the worst, most obstinate, and long-standing diseases
ot the blood, without puking, purging, sicktning, or debili
tating. It cleanses, strengthens, invigorates, makes new,
healthy blood, and gives new vigor and new life to'the whole
system.
BRANTS PURIFIER is FOUR TIMES CHEAPER
tlidn any other remedy in the world, because
ONE DOLLAR'S WORTH
of it will effect a greater amount of cure than four dollars’
worth of sarjopnrilla, or any other remedy, no matter how
large their bottles may be. The important question for con
sumers to determine, is, haw much more-curative effect will a
dollar's worth of this Purifier produce, than a dollars worth of
that sarsaparilla or other remedy. Wd might here aay, that
Brant's Medicines hnd citred, within the last year,
100,000 Persons of Impure Blood Diseases,
and 25,000 Cases were considered Incurable
as some other patent-medicine men arc in the habit of say
ing. If we should say so, who would believe us ? This
however, we do say, and stand ready to prove by respectable
witnesses, that Brant’s Medicines have effected cures of
more diseases on living human beings, the past year, than
any other remedy in existence did during the same time.
How much will a Dollar’s worth CURE P
Twenty large, deep Ulcers wero cured by using only twelve
bottles of Brant's Purifier.
The following is tho most wonderful and astonishing cure
that was ever effected on a human being, by any medicine.
Horrid Scrofula Cured.
Mit. J. B. llaskin, of Rome, Oneida Co., N. Y., certifies,
December 20th, 1846, that he had been afflicted with Scro
fula four years, and the lost year confined to bis bed, with
twenty large, deep, discharging Ulcers —that his neck
was eaten around from ear to ear—a hole waa eaten
through his Wind-pipe, 60 that he breathed through the
hole—his ear was cearly destroyed—the use of bis arm
was wholly destroyed—and an Ulcer under the arm, as
large as a morn’s hand, had nearly eatea'through into his
Lungs—that he had used all kinds of Sarsaparilla and
other medicines, to no benefit, and that he waa not expected
to live twenty-four hours when he commenced Brant’s
Indian Purifying Extract— that nine bottles of the
Purifying Extract healed and cured seventeen of the
twenty Ulcers lie had when he commenced using it, and
that a few bottles more effected a perfect cure. For fuH
particulars of this, and many other similar cures, see our
Pamphlets.
Tliim Wonderful qnd Astonishing CUBE
does not stand alone as a monument of the great qjficacy
of Brant’s Purifier, for we could giro almost unlim
ited evidence of other cures, well attested, if this were
doubted. This cure is certified to by
Fourteen Respectable Witnesses.
By Doer. Thos. Williams, one of the most respectable
physicians of Rome—by Messrs. Bissell Sc Leonard,
wholesale and retail druggists—by Mr. G. R. Brown, pro
prietor and keeper of the West Rome Hotel—and by
eleven other witnesses.
Brant’s Indian Purifier
cures all impure diseases of the blood, viz.: Scald-Head,
Salt-Rheum, Rheumatism, Eruptions, Pimples on the Face,
Piles, Biles, Ulcers, Costiccness, Mercurial Diseases, Liver
Complaint, Pains in the Back, Side, and Limbs, Rush of
Blood to the Head. etc., etc.
INTERNAL ULCERS.
This cure is a triumph over the skill of the best physicians
In the city ol Philadelphia, aod is positive proof that
internal ulcers can be cured as easily as external. when
Brant’s Purifying Extract is used. Mr. John Hepburn,
one of the most respectable gentlemen in Auburn, Cayuga
Co., H. Y., informed us in Oct. 1847, that he had beezraf
flicted with three Fissures or Ulcers, so situated inter
nally as to allow of an examination, and thus furnish posi
tive proof of the fact, and of their location. He said that
he had spent one year in Philadelphia, under thejprofesaio’iLi
advice of the bq£t physicians; and was obliged to return tc
Auburn, without cure or help, when Dr. T. M. Hunt,
druggift, of Aubnrn, advised him to try Brant's Purifying
Extract, and the use of seven bottles of it effected a perfect
CHRONIC ERYSIPELAS AND ULCERS.
Astonishing and most wonderful Curb.— Capt. Ezra
Knapp, of No. 37 WUlow st., Brooklyn. N. Y., one of the
most respectable citizens in the city, was afflicted.five years
with Scrofulous Erysipelas of both legs, from the knees to
the feet, which inflamed and swelled to a prodigio.ua size,
and ulcerated. Large deep ulcers, apparently large enough
to run a finger in, came into them, which discharged daily
an_nlmost incredible quantity of a maturated substance.
He had had the advice and attendance of several of the
most skilful physicians, and had tried many highly recom
mended medicines without effecting a cure, and was told by
one or two of his physicians that the ulcers in his legs would
run him off before long. Brant’s Purifying Extract has
cured these ulcerated and inflamed legs, so that now they
arc entirely healed up, and he enjoys good health.
DYSPEPSIA—SOUR STOMACH CURED.
Attica. Genesee Co., N. Y., Feb. 1,1848
M. T. WALLACE Sc CO.—Gentlemen ; Lreceived a case
of Brant’s Medicines from you, and have been most won
derfully disappointed in the rapid' sales made, and much
more so in the general and particular satisfaction the medi
cal effect the medicines had given to all those who hav»
been fortunate enough to try them. I was myself, for more
than a year, afflicted with a disease of tho Stomach. I could
not eat any fat or greasy substance without causing great
pain, sickness, and vomiting, and was continually afflicted
with a .Sour Slomach. When Brant’s Medicines came, I, as
an experiment, tried one bottle, which, to my utter disap
pointment, eased and relievtd the usual pain after ealing. I
therefore, used the seeond bottle, which has completely cured
the disease. lam now well and hearty, and can eat almost
anything without being pained, or the stomach becoming
sour. Please send me another supply by express, as some
who Are taking it can not do without 1 1, they have expert
unced so muck benefit from its use.

book highly Bpoken of. as containing some matters
reaching my case. On its receipt and perusal, I can
not express to you the relief it afforded my distressed
miud and the joy its pages impnrted to my wife, on
learning that the great discovery of M. M. Deso
meaux provided a remedy. It opened a prospect to
me which I little conceived was possible. No pecu
niary consideration can ever repay the obligations I
am under to yon for haviug been the means of im
parting to us the matters contained in 1 The Mamed
Womsn\ Private Medical Companion.’ But for
this, ere another year would have passed over my
head, in all human probability my wife would have
been in her grave, and my children left motherless.'

Competence and Health.
“Lancaster, Pa., Oct. 24, 1847.
" My Dear Sir : I know you will.havc the kind
ness to hear with me in encroaching upon your time,
while Packnowledge (in behalf of myself and wife)
the obligations we feel ourselves under to you in hav
ing made lyiown certain matters, contained in your
most invaluable ‘Married Woman's Private Medical
Companion.’ It has been worth its weight in gold
to me. If 1 express myself rather warmly, you will
see that I can not do so too.wnrmly, when I inform
you of the extentrto which-1 have, through it,‘been
benefited. I will state my situation when I obtained
your book through the merest cariosity I look upon
it as one of the most fortunate events of my life. I
had been married some ten years, and was die father
of seven children. I was long struggling unceasingly,
to the end that I might gain a moderate competency,
but the results of my utmost exertions at the end left
mp about where I was at the beginning of each year;
and that only, with the most stinted economy, suffi
cing with barely the necessaries of life. Finally, this
constant effort was beginning to have its effect upon
my health: I felt less capable to endure its continu
ance, while I felt the necessity of perseverance.
“ This constant, unceasing struggle on my part was
imperative, in consequence of the prostrated condi
tion of my wife (with occasional intermission) for six
years, much of the time confined to her, bed, and of
course incapable of taking tbe charge- and manage
ment of household affairs. Her condition arose from
causes of which I was ignorant. Oh! what would
I have given had I the six years to live over again !
What would my wife have given to have been spared
the long days and still longer uights prostrate on a
bed of sickness!—all of which would have been
avoided, had I then seen a copy of ‘The Married
Woman’s Private Medical Companion.’”

DANGEROUS DELIVERIES,
OBSTRUCTIONS, IRREGULARITIES, &C
How many are suffering 1 from obstruction or irreg
ularities peculiar to tbo female system, which un
dermine their health, the effects of which they are
ignorant, and for which their delicacy forbids seeking
medical advice! How many suffer from prolapsus
uteri (falling of the womb), or from fiuor-albus (weak
ness, debility, Ac., Ac )! How many are in constant
agony for many months preceding confinement! How
many have difficult if not dangerous deliveries, and
whose lives are jeoparded daring such time, will find
in its pages the means of prevention, amelioration,
and relief!

portant matters treated of in ' The Married Woman’s
Private Medical Companion’ some years ago, how
mach misery I might have escaped ! I have suffered
years from causes which you point out in your book,
without knowing what to do. I obtained a copy, and
found my case, treated of. I trnat every female will

Letters are daily receded of this character, unne

To thoseMyet unmarried, but contemplating mar
riage, or perhaps hesitating-as to the propriety of
incurring the responsibilities attendant upon it, the
importance of being possessed of tbe revelations con
tained in these pages, so intimately involving their
future happiness, can not be appreciated.
It is, of course, impracticable to convey more fully
the various subjects treatdff of, as they are of a na
ture strictly intended for the married, or those con
templating marriage; neither is it necessary 7 , since
it is every one’s duty to become possessed of knowl
edge whereby the sufferings to which a wife, a moth
er, or a sister, may be subject, can be obviated.
