LIVER PILLS!
Intemperance a Disease
When the celebrated Dr. flush declared that
drunkenness was a disease, he enunciated a
truth which the experience and observation of
medical men Is every day continuing. The
many apparently Insane excesses of theso who
Indulge In the use of spirituous liquors may
thus be accounted for. The true cause of con
duct, which Is taken for Infatuation, is very
frequently a diseased state of the Liver. Ne or-
San In the human system when deranged, pro pre
uces a mera frightful catalogue of diseases
And if, instead of applying remedies te the
manifestations of the disease, as Is tee often
the case physicians would prescribe with a view
te the original cause, fewer deaths would result
from diseases Induced by a deranged state of the
Liver. Three-fourths of the diseases enumer
ated under the head of Consumption haethelr
seat In a diseased Liver. The genuine Dr. C.
McLnne's Liver Fills, prepared by Fleming
Bres., Pittsburg, l'a., are a sure cure.
Mr. Jonathan Houghman, of West Union,
Park Ce., Illinois, writes te the proprietors,
Fleming Brethers, of It ttsburg, Pn., t hat he had
stiRercd from a severe and protracted attack of
fever and ague, nnd was completely restored te
healthliby the use of the genunle Dr. C. Mr"
line's Liver Pills alone. These Pills unques
tionably possess great properties, nnd can be
taken Willi decldedjad vantage for many diseases
requiring Invigorating remedies, but the Liver
Plfls stand pre-eminent as the means of restor
ing a disorganized liver te healthy action :
hence the great celebrity they hnve attained.

" In the early part of 1887 scrofula appeared
