hardware store, in Teledo, Ohie, have made
an assignment. The firm was one of the
largest in this line of business in North
western Ohie and did a large business.

section 1, Be It ordained by the Select and
Common Councils of thn City et Lancaster,
That for the purpose of affording the citizens of
the western parts of the city Increased railway
facilities, anil Introducing electricity a the mo
tive potter, the West End Street Railway com
pany shall have the right te lay street railway
tracks en West King street ana Columbia ave
nue, from the east side of Prince street te Col
lege avenue, and en Maner street from West
King street te city limits, und en West Chest
nut street from North Queen street te College
avenue, and en West James street from Prince
street te College avenue, and en Cellega avenue
from Columbia avenue te Junius streeu
Provided, That all track en the said streets
shall be laid wlUi flat rails, or net less than
three-Inch tread, and of uniform gauge with
the Lancaster City Street railway, and Uie
track laid by the Lancaster A Mllleravllle Rail
road company, hi the city limit, shall be
changed te similar flat rails and be of the same
gauge as uie uincasier nir niruei railway.
And, provided further, Thatthe laying or new
tracks und altering of any tracks that are new
laid, shall be graded according te the direction
of the street committee, se a te make the best
Jeb; but the grade given by the committee
shall net preclude the city from changing Uie
giadeatany time; nnd If such grade b changed
by councils, the tracks shall belaid In cenfer

have the right te operate meter strict curs, and
te erect and maintain poles en both sides of
each street along the reute of said railway
tracks, mentioned In section lef thl ordinance,
at such peluts as the engineer In cbarge of the
construction of said street railway and the
street committee of city council may deem
necessary, und te connect the pole en opposite
sides of the street se as te curry the wires
which connect the clectrle current te the curs.
