est prospects and it already has forty-two
members, with a large number of appli
cants for membership. Its object Is te mtse

Jehn Kberly, a man who resides nuurthe;
limekiln en the Wnbank read, was arrested
en Friday by Constable Klcheltr. and Offi
cer OH, cbarged with robberyand drunken
and disorderly conduct. The warrants
were Issued by Alderman Spurrier, v he
gave Kberly flve days for drunkenness.
The robbery that Is alleged occurred about
a month age, and the prosecutor Is llenry
Mellrlck. He says that he was.very drunk
6rie night and ,fell '.nl with Kbbrly. They
were walking along en St. Jeseph's street,
this city, and he says that Kberly took
from his person n ocketbook containing
$2.50 lit moiiey, and n bundle In which
wero a pair of shoes, knlfe, and seme ether
articles. The arrest was net msdn until
this late day bocause Lberly could net be
found.

Cenrad F. Shlndle, a prominent lawyer
of Tamaqua, dled at his home en Thursday
evening, aged 51 yearn. He was born at
Gratr, Dauphin county, and graduated at
Franklin and Marshall college. He was a
promlnent Bepubllcan and In 167(1 was en
the olccterlal ticket of this state.
