Threo Deaths In One Family.
There is great cause for sorrow In the
family of the late William McCoembs, of
Drutnere township. Last week Mr. Mc Mc Mc
Ceombs died, and whlle his burial was
taking place his wife ex pi red. At the time
their son Jehn was very ill and he died to
day, The deaths of all three was the re-t
ault of la grippe. Jehn was 30 years of age
and his funeral will take place en Monday,
with lnterment at Chestnut Level. The re
maining metnbeia of the family have the
sympathy of the entire community luthelr
bereavement.

An Entertainment of Senar.
At Leuis PfaeQle'a concert garden, en
Prince street, a fine entertainment Is new
being given each evening. There are
three first-class singers and the audiences
nightly are very large, including the best
people of the city. Ed. Parker, the tuner
singer, who Is in his second week, is mak
ing a "great hit with Cuuard's new song
"Only a Year," and his encores are numer
ous. Miss Sephie Carre, who Is a very
pretty young lady with a sweet volce, re
ceive a hearty welcome every night, which
be wifely merits. Miss Webb, a colored
inger of ability, is also pleaslug the people.

TUey Crew a Crowd.
Between 8 and 9 o'clock this morning
Officer Crawford and Sheriff Burkheldor
Wet at the corner of Vine aud Duke xtrcets.
They engaged in conversation which ended
1b quite a row, Crawford accused the
herlff of having voted the Domecratio
ticket at Tuesday's election. The sheriff
4enled the accusation. Their vigorous
language seen drew a crowd. The dispu
tants were at one time en the verge of pum
xaellng each ether. Crawford with clenched
flet cot pretty close te the sheriff, but they
both concluded a mouth fight was as much
M the occasion demanded. Their bleed
was at a tamperature net differing a degree
la heat from that of many Republican poll
Ueians, who learned of the teturns from
Tuesday's great battle. Sheriff Burk
holder says that Crawford was under the

The team stolen from Jonas Brubaker's
barn near .Huber'a school house, en Sun
day night, was found a short distance
south of Lltltt, en the farm of Jeseph Bol Bel Bol
llnger, en Monday. The thlef, It Is sup
posed, foared arrest and abandoned the
team.
On Sunday night Jacob M. Baker's
herse was removed from the stable In rear
of Bread stroet, Lltltz, as well as the har
ness. The latter was found in ploces scat
tered near the stable next merniug, whlle
the herse was found at Relst's farm three
mlles west of Lltltz. The herse Is a frac
tious ene and cannot be handled by any any any
ene, and Ills supposed that he ran away
from the weuld-be thlef.
On Monday nlitht the team of Benjamln
Lcaman was stelen from his barn in War
wick township. It was roeovored nt Mt.
Jey, whoie the thief abandened It.

David Plcam, of Intercourse, chanced en
a large hog, which Is said te weigh 000
pounds, last night. Bctween four and flve
hundred tickets had bcen sold and thore
was a great deal of luterest manifested.
The tickets or their numbers were
plnced In a box, It was decided that
a blindfolded person should draw six
tickets from a box and the last ene should
take the hog. This was doue nnd the win
nor was Miss Ella Bewors, a prominent
young lady of Gordeuvlllo. She had no
idea of drawing such a monster prize, L'Q'.
merely purchased the ticket for tun. She
was greatly surprised when told of her
geed luck, and several gontlemon olteied
her geed prlces for the big porker.

weighing about 150 pounds each, were
chanced off and wen as fellows; Ames

are aggravated assault and battery and
