The testimony of the commonwealth's
witnesses was that Samuel Campbell had n

Brvsen, oneof the dofendants In the case,
and Ojcar B. Beth, the proseontor. Bryson
bought a herse at this sale nnd Beth a pair

On cross-examlnatlon Keth admitted that
after he recoverod the mules from Brysen'H
stable be kept thorn a few days and sent
them back te Bryson's letting the mes
senger te take the mules te Bryson, os they
were his property.

worth of arsenic which she said she wauted
te use te kill rats. Upen returning te her
home uhe took the polseu and went te bed.
Her daughter. who heard of her lntoutlent,

was tee late, as the old lady had retumud
home by a dilferent reute. The daughter
accused her of taking poison and she ad
mitted that sbe hed. Dr. Ketschor was

was brought out, nnd te-day the old lady
is all right again, but semewhat shaky.
Who she wanted te " splte" is net known,
but it Is quite likely that rum wits the

well-known cigar manufacturer nnd im
