The property holders and tenants living
above Sixth street have suffered from an
Inadequate water supply for several
years past. The com plaint was se general
that the Columbia Water company have
erected a 30-feet standpipe connecting with
the Leckard Hellew reservoir. The stand
is a six-inch diameter plpe and will meet
the present demands. ,

There was considerable drunkenness

evening. After midnight two rival gangs

an appearance. Some of the crowd were

The mayor had four vagrants this morn
ing, und these with two drunks, who paid
the costs, were discharged. Twe drunks
get ten days each in jail.
