Jehn Campbell, met with a painful accident
one day last week. As he was walking

Tbere was a burglar scare at the honse
of Gottlelb llettlg, cleaner of clothing who
resides at 127 East Chestnut street, early en
Sunday morning. About twenty minutes
after ene o'clock word whs sent te tbu sta
tion house that burglars were in Mr. llet
tlg house. Sorgeaut Hartley nnd Officer
Weaver visited the house and examlued
the premise', but found no ene. Thure it
no doubt that there bad been a thief In
the house, however, One of Mr, ltet
tlgs daughters heard him unlock
the rear deer of the house nnd
when the family were awakened they
found Iho deer standing wide ejtun, having
been unlocked from the Inslde. The person
who was Inslde may have gotten In the
house early In the evening. The only
ether way that hbi presence Inslde could be
accounted for was that he crawled through
an opening leading front the bake house te
the kitchen. This was se small that the
burglar must have been a very small man
or a boy. He was undoubtedly frightened
away befere he succeeded In getting his
work done, as nothing was mlsseil. It
may have been the same person who

Mrs. Charles Crocker, widow of the late
railroad magnate, died of apoplexy In San
