Henry Weed, widow, Mr. Kmma Sprout
and Mrs. Jehn Felk, of Columbia, and
Mm. Maggie Jacobs, of Paradise Tlinre

the ages of these children.
Mr. Snyder comes from a family of long
lived people. Ills father was Antheny
Snyder, who served as a soldler in the
Revolutionary war and was 1 13 years of age
when be died.

This morning two hard looking tramps
came in the Lancaster turnpike and told
several persens that they had discovered
an umbrella mender lying in a ditch, near
Keeler's school house. They said the man
waa in a dying condition, nnd wanted te
find a constable. A description of the man
corresponded with that of an umbrella
mender who bad been in town for a lew
days. The story had rather a suspicious
flavor and no person could be found who
would go te investigate the case.

after her father, Mr. Themas Daniels, was
taken te his bed with paralysis he Informed
his daughter that he had fl,900 la several
banks and instructed her te get a power of
attorney and put it In'one bank In her own
name, She did as directed.
Her brother, William Danlels, a married
man who does net llve with his wife, new
found It difficult te get any money from

that ihomenev belonged te her father and
that the brother was In geed health and
could work for his living. William then

On Monday be sent word te bis sloter,
who was living with a Mrs. Sarah Hnrten,

would kill her. Mrs. Warren Stewart, a
friend of Miss Daniels, becaine quite In
dignant and called en Daniels.
"Yeu ought te be ashamed of yourself
te make such a threat egalusl your sister,"
said Mrs. Stewart.
"That's my business," was his surly
' Well, you knew If you kilt anybody
you will hang," said Mrs. Stewart.
"They are net hanging crar.y peeple
nnw-a-days, snd I'm crazy," said Daniels.
Nothing mero was thought of the
matter until Tuesday afternoon, when Miss
Daniels Informed Mrs. llorten that she
would like te see her brother and have the
matter settled, and Mrs. llertjn accompa
nied lier. According te Mrs. Horten's
story the two women had no sooner crossed
the threshold when Daniels jumjHMl
up, grabbed his sister by the threat and
knocked her down, lie then took a
revolver out of his hip pocket and llred
six shots at hnr.
Then Mrs. Hnrten and Mrs. Stewart
caught him and held him anil lis was seen
arrested. Only two of the six bullets had
taken effect, and the wounded woman Is
exiecteilte recover.

The funeral of (he late Jeseph Clarksen
took plaee from the rosldence of the do de

Tuesday afternoon. The interment was
private, only the male members of the
family and their friends accompanying
