Of all the spring bint at eim'i feet,
Upen the (tern Minting,
In garden bed or meadow tweet,
Or In the fields ablewlng,
There'a none se fair,
Beyond compare,
A this tweet maid of soft brown hair,
1 scarcely dare confess the gem,
Lett ether aheutd etpy It,
And pluck from off It slender item,
Se much he might dealre It ; ,
Fer should I part
With this sweet heart,
I ne'er should And lUcetinterparl.
He sweetly Innocent the lay
She sing In melting cadence,
1 leae the power ray love te aay
I'm held In sweet abeyance. -
Fer wy lie she slug,
Ne power can bring
Much sweet content te terror klnr.
Her half-averted glance defies
The love I would be making.
And many sutlmpled blush Implies
A dream, perchance, that's waking
A dream of bliss.
Frem honeyed kiss,
A king might wish from lips like this.
Iter soft blue eyes like rivulets
Through alt my soul meander ;
Her smiles I wear as amulets,
And were 1 but Lcander,
I'd stem the tide
And seas outride,
Te claim thlsjnald as my sweet bride.

A aide of the picture efllfe In New Yerk

East Sixtieth street, where the deceased

la occupied by twenty families. These
neighbors did net knew for the past week
that Mrs. Ilaurahan was dead In her room.
And the woman's son who slept In the room
did net knew, or perhaps rare either, and
she may lia e been dead ten days from ull
appearances. A disagreeable smell about
the tenement as early as last Friday sent
the tenants with complaints te the agent of
the building, lie looked for a dead rat
The smell increased in strength through
Saturday, Sunday and Monday. That Mrs.
If anrahan had net complained or been seen
during that time excited no comment, for
her eighteen-year-old son Jehn v ni in and
out. The janitor en Tuesday, however,
located the smell in the llatmilinn apart
ments and broke i it the deer. In one room
he found.the son lying en a illthv sofa with
an empty beer can liy lib slde. In the
back room vt ni found the mother in the
last stages of decay. The son nppeared
stupid,' or pretended te be. He had Ap
parently been having a wake for a weck
ever hfs mother, and all te himself. He
had eaten nothing, mid was se weak that
he was taken te the hospital.
