heavy vete pelled in this ward, and the
reault waa the nomination of Wm. Jehnsen
and Richard M. Rellly, Dr. Levergood
waa defeated by 8 votes.

atruggle, In whleh Mr. Stanffer had hla

whole party were ejeeted. Their expulsion
greatly angered them, and they gathered

When these parties learned that cfueera
had been sent for they left the premises.

Charles 8. Wolfe, of Union county, was
also In Harrlsbnrg tbla week. Wolfe waa

station of 1831. Speaking of Bayne and
Wolfe Senater Myiln, of Lancaster county,

fight when Charley Wolfe bad the United

this arrangement, but Wolfe waa either

band or thought that it would stand ever
night, and declined te give an immediate

Drowned While Skating.
C. Robins North, sged 18, a son of Colonel
Geerge H. North, of thenrmefG. H. North
A Ce., brokers, et Philadelphia, and assis
tant adjutant general of the National Guard
staff, waa drowned in Therpe'a dam, en the
Wlssabloken, en Saturday morning. A
party of young people, Including young
North and hla two slaters, Anna and Katie,
went te the dam. North and hla sister
Anna started ent first, and the lee broke
under them Just aa the rest of the party
arrived. Jeseph A. Janney Jumped into
the water and rescued the young lady, but
young North sank te the bottom. The
body was found two heura later.

Annabel Crocker, aged seventeen years,
has been married In Greenfield, Ma, te
Daniel McGrevle, a veteran of the Mexican
war, seventy-five yssrs old. MeUrevle
made hla money as a tin peddler, but re
tired from buslnessyears age. He has been
married befere and raised a large family.
Tne wedding ceremony took place at the
