appeared nnd made an argument In favor
of the city accepting the preposition made
Dy me turnpike oempany te pay 100 per
year for keeplng repair that pait et the
turnpike in the oily limits. The avetace
cost (or repair, heaald, waa net mere than (50
per mlle each year. He called the attention
et the committee te the bad condition of
North Duke street, which had net been put
in the condition It wu before the aewer wu
built.
The clerk of the committee wu directed
te notify Jehn Kendlg, the contractor, te at
once pat Duke street In passable condition.
The committee took no action en the
preposition et the liltllr. turnpike company
for the keeplng In repair of their turnpike.
It will be probably disposed of at the next
meeting.
Jehn O. Bager, president of the West
End atreet railway, appeared before the
cammlttoe and asked for permission te
build turnouts, one in Centre Square and
the ether en West Orange atreet, tbeene
en Orange atreet te be placed In front of a
let of ground owned by him.
A general discussion followed u te the
Mtllcrsvllle oerapany refuslng te put down
llt rails, and Mr, Hsger said that company
was ready te ail J uit tbelr rails te the grade
of Orange atreet, but, the oempany had
nover been given the grade. He thought
that the Mllleravllle company would lay
flat rails whonever the prosent rails are
displaced, but did net bollevo the ordinance
governing atreet railways required the
