held their regular monthly meeting with a
rather allm attendance. Dr. WIckeTabam

Ington A. Lincaster railroad, and he bad
noticed that this change had already been
made. The oeat,they sid,weuld te (300,000,
and they propose te mortgage the whole
read for that sum and cfler bends at 4 per
cent for sale. They aaked whether a por
tion et these bends could be placed in Lan
caster. Mr. Uagcr c-xplatned that the Penn
sylvania railroad efllclala aald that they
would net gusrantoe the bends, but tbat
the Intereat would be paid by them and
the read eperated by them, which would
be virtually the aame thing.
Docter Wlckersham called the attention
et the municipal commltlee te Iho con
dition et the munielpal law.
Mr. Uager aald tbat aa Dr. WIcketaham
waa thoroughly familiar with the matter
he should be placed upon the committee.
Mr. Housten suggested that It would be
better te have aeversl member of the old
commltlee mcet with the new alae, tbat
the new commltlee should profit by the
exporlenco of tbe old. lie said that he
understood that preparations bad been
made te bring suit te test the law en at
least ene point, and that the commltlee
should sce te repairing such defects In It.
