who was drowned In the Oonestega at tbe
big railroad bridge en Monday afternoon,
had laid en the bank for aeme time It was
taken charge of by Undertaker A. C. Bete,
who took it te the home or deceased's

The repert that the boy bad been drowned
spread very rapidly and long before the
body arrived at the Leme a tremendeus
crowd of people had gathered around It
and In tbe street
Corener Henaman quickly empanelled
a Jury consisting of Jehn Kliey, Miles
Kite, Henry Dare,U. W. Bueklus, Abraham
Feters and Harry U., Henael and an In
quest was held ever the remalns. Tbe
testimony of Cap,. Abraham Hettley, Will
Yackley, Charles Wiley, two boys,
was heard, The evldenee ellelted tbe
same faets as published yesterday.
Tbe deceased and "Xackley, who la some
what younger, went te the country for
walnuts, About two o'clock they were at tbe
railroad bridge, and found .several gentle
men fishing en the weat aide of the
stream. William nebuKze was one of tbe

and became entangled in the weeds or

would recover It, and Mr. Hchullzeteld

ther down the slream, heard the alarm and
ran te hla assistance. He took off hla shoes
and pantaloons and plunged Inte tbe
stream. He swam te within a few feet of
the boy, and tried te encourage blm by
calling. Tbe captain could net reach him,
howevor, as be began te beoemoexbausiod,
and fearlng bojweuld drown also atarted
baekj for the sboie, whleh he rotiebod
alter tbe greatest difficulty. Heme
men who steed en the eastern bank
of the stream threw a plank te the boy but
te could net roaeh it The eurrent soemed
te be tee atreng for him and the wateV cov
ered him. Iu an hour alter the drowning
tie body was recovered by Geerge, Max
und Jehn Uegartb, Wm. 1'entz and Jaoeb
Wltcb, who had a beat and rakee. It waa
found a abort distance below wbere the boy
Bank. Alter hearing the evldenoe the Jury
rendered a verdict of accidental drowning.
Tbe mother and father of tbe boy arrived
at tbe oreek bofero tbe body was recovered
and tbe soene when he was brought ashere
waa one calculated te make a atreng man
shed teats. It waa only equalled by tbe
scenes at the house when tbe body was
brought home. Tbe boy would have been
in yearn old next Haturday had be lived.
Tbe father Is a day laborer and has a large
family.

great many accidents have happened In the
