The Fulton opera house has been most
thoroughly altered, lmproveil nutl fecautl-

mitiigeinent of Mr. W. M. K, Williamson.
The opera house U new owned by Messrs.
Procter A Bouller. Mr. JVoelor Is the
owner or leasee et wero than twenty opera
houtandtheatrc, and Mr. Soulier la In
terealedwlth blm in Falteu opera heuse,
and the Grand epera house and Academy
at Musle In Wilmington, Del.
Doting the aamnier Mr. Williamson has
been oentUntly engaged In waking exten
sive Improvement In Knlten opera home.
The outside of the building and the weed
work of the lobby have been handsomely
painted by Mr. Uartman Moero. The fleer
of the lobby has been laid In mat bio tlle
byHowelUt Oruger and the walls bave
been meat artlatlcally papered and band
painted by J. B. Martin A Ce., the designs
lelug et Jarancie pattern and elegantly
executeu. A etalned glass window botween
the lobby and the manager's room has a
veryyretty effect.
Tb ticket oflleo aud wanager'e rooms
have been removed from the south te the
north side et the lobby ; the old Iren guard
around the ticket box has been removed
and the front of the ticket box has been en
larged se that a chart of the eeata sold mid
unsold Is bolore the eyes el the purchaser
et tickets. Tlcketn sold at this box are ler
the parquet and parquet circle only.
On the north side or the ticket ollleo Is
another box for the tale or tickets te the
gallery, and the entraoee te the gallery lit
by a stairway ou the north side el the opera
house. Exit from the gallery Is made by
this stairway and by auother en the south

intkiuer ok tup. erimA iintiHi:.
On entering the auditorium great changes
are noticeable The soils et the parquet
have been remeyrd, and replaced by fold
ing opera chairs upholstered In leather.
These are very light and comfortable, and
fold up, se that persons wishing te pats
seits that are occupied have no dillleutty In
doleg te. Under each set Is a rack In
which gentlemen can place thelr hate, and
thus prevent them from belne rolled.
The parquet circle leeks mueh as It did
before the Improvements, but bofero the
season is ever It tee will be provlded with
opera chairs and additional aisle. The
walls of the auditorium have been newly
papsred and the aisles laid in handsome
carpets by J, 11. Martin it Ca
The old railing around the orchestra box
baa been tern away and the front et the
stage cut down several lnehes, which glves
a better view te persens occupying front
stats. Ihe musicians (Iiurger'n orchealra)
will appear In full uniform. Annmboref
new electrle llRhte, with ahndce, hate been
put In te light the erchestra.
The drop curtain has been repainted end
supplied with new drapsry, and all the
scenery en the stage Is entirely new. There
arotwcnty-nveeotis, and et these thore Is
one combination piece that can be litlllred
into sixteen or mero straight pieces'. Heme
et these scenes are much liner than any
ever seen In Ijincaster, and equal te any
seen anywherr. Mr. (Jliarles iluleal, the
artist, will be here early In .September te
paint many ethor pieces of new scenery.
The electric light of the opera houee has
been iccreastd abent 25 per cent. and Is
new estimated te be 3.400 candle pewer.
The electrle apparatus for producing stage
effects Is very oempleto. The lights in
riles, the footlights and in all ether parts of
the hall cannot only be turned en aud oil
a', will, but they cm be turned up or down
gradually, Ihosame as gas lights, and ouch
one is independent of the ethers, se that
any number of lights desired may he had
at any time.;
The footlights consist or 'M wbite, i!i red
and 25 green lights. 'I he etoetrlo lighting
was all put In under the management of l.
U. Bhaw, or the Kdlsen Klcctrle works, this
city.
An olectrle bell conueota the Htage with
Sprcnger's Baloeu. It rings oue minute
before the curtain rises and thus gives gen
tlemen who have te go out te "soe a man"
an opportunity te get back te thelr a eats In
time.
