The supply of strawberries has fallen cfl
largely in comparison with the receipts a
week age. The season la ever in Delaware
and Maryland, aud the Philadelphia mar
ket receives Its supply from Jersey, with a
few from Fcnnsylvanls. With the excep
tion et the Beutb, the season baa proved a
very abeit one se far, and the dry weather
ctlast week will, It Is said, considerably
rtduee the supply and shorten the season
In Jersey. In consequence et the seant
supply, geed bertles the latter part of last
week brought from 12 te 13 eents a quart,
the latter for tee extra large fruit from the
Bell i farm. Ten days mere, dealers say,
will wind up the strawberry seasen in this
seeltOD.
A few red raspberries made their appear
ance in tbe wholesale market en Saturday.
They sold at tbe rate of 30 cents a quart.
Virginia and North Carolina are sending in
some creditable whortleberries, and tbe de
mand for them at live and six eents a quart
la said te be geed. Maryland gooseberries
are In rather scant supply. They sell
Wholesale st G and 7 cents a quart.
Watermelons are beginning te come by
the ear lead, six or seven cars having ar
rived with them from Flerida and South
ern Georgia last week. They are said te be
