The fire commlttee reported that the
Bhawnee fire steamer was tried en Monday
evening in the prcsonce of the commlttee
and worked satisfactorily. During the

perted the town In a geed sanitary condi
tion. An ordlnance was brought up en second
reading repealing the ordinance prohibit
ing the building of beuses en alley. The
ordinance was adopted by the following

Begulater Geerko furnished the grades
for Chestnut street, from Third te Second,

J. W. Yecuru, ler the I'rosuyterlan
church, asked that the church be rolleved
from taxes en the Ualdeman preperty for
1888. The request was granted.
An ordlnance was presented prohibiting
the slaughtering of cattle within the bor
ough limit, after April lit, lb.

An order was granted for 02 fur Interest

Will be removed and placed at Fourth and
Mill. A new plug will be plaeed at Third
ad Locust street. The Columbia water
eeaapany will be requested te extend the
water main en Fifth stroet te Mill,
