B. North, chief surgeon of the Wetsisli railway hospital, was called te see James Christian who, bis wile said, had shot himself. The doctor and his attendants hurried te the Christian house, a few reds distant. Leeking through the cracks In the woodshed they saw Christian's appar ently lileleea body. Hastily opening the deer, the doctor stepped In, when Chris tian sprang te his feet with an oath and pulled a big navy revolver. Or. North went out, closing the deer, but it waa Hung open Instantly by Christian, who, held Ing his revolver close te Dr. North's right side, tired. The physician fell ever, mortally wounded, with Christian en top el him. The bystanders pulled Christian away and he was hurried te jail. Dr. North was carried te the hospital, where a vain attempt waa wade te extract the ball, which waa tired from a IS calibre navy revolver. It entered the body two Inches below the armpit and longed In the kidneys. Last night the wounded man whs very low and cannot re cover.
