tta T.Jehn McCoy Installed at Gap en Tbun-
t day Evening.
Rev. Jehn McCoy was Installed as pastor
Of the Bell vue Presbyterian church, Gap, en
Thursday evening with appropriate cere,
monies. Mr. McCoy was formerly stationed
at Columbia, but several years age he
moved te Franklin, Venango county,
from Which town he went te Gap.
There waa a very large audience iu the
church. The decorations was very hand,
some, and the pulpit was literally
covered with hanks of most beautiful
flowers. The exercises began at 7:30 and
the meeting was presided ever by Rev. W.
O. Calms, of Ooteraro churcb, wne was as
sisted hi the devotional exercises by Dr. J.
T. Mitchell, of Lancaster ; Rev. E. W. Gay.
lord, Paradise; Rev, D. Andersen, U. P.
church, Octoraro, and Rer. M. L. Ress,
Pequea. The services were opened with an
anthem by the choir which waa well ren
dered. The sermon was preached by Rev.
Mitchell and his Uieme was Sewing and
Reaping." After the sermon the choir Bang
another anthem. The constitutional ciues ciues
tlena were propounded by Rev. Cairns
snd were answered sfllrmatively bythe pastor
and tba congregation. Tue charge te the
pastor waa delivered by Rev. Kesn, and the
charge te tbe people by Rev. Qaylerd. After
sprayer by Rev. Cairns, the new pastor pro pre pro
seunoed the benediction. The members of
tha congregation then came forward and ex
tended the right hand of fellowship te tbelr
pastor.

The jury in tbe Rtce ejectment suit
rendered a verdict in favor of the plalntlfM for
alx-elgbth's of the property Thursday after
noon after a deliberation of several hours. 11.

This does net determine the issue finally, as
tha law requlrea two verdicts before the title

All of Thursday afternoon and this morn
ing was taken up by tbe plaintiU's examina
tion of witnesses in tbe suit el Maria K. Bell,
against the Pennsylvania railroad company
for damages for the death of ber husband, en
trial before Judge Patterson. The testimony
waa merely corroborative of what was out
lined by counsel in tbe opening of the case,
Tbs suit for damages brought by Jacob
Fetter against Leenard Schmidt Is still en
trial before Judge Livingston. Tbe defense
was that Schmidt erected tbe fence across the
pump bed te keep bis neighbors from tres
passing en bis property and that by putting
two handles te the pump, one el which was
ea Fetter's side he bad all the privileges of
the pomp te which be was entitled.

the interest of the centennial of tranklln

Arneld Baas Injured.
Arneld Haas, the hotel proprietor en
North Queen street, wet with a severe
accident en Thursday. 11 e was ex
ercisiug a horse, when the animal
reared up en his hind legs. As he
came down he struck Ml Haas breaking
one shoulder and cutting his head. Dr. '.

Twe Teams stolen.
Chief Smith received a telegram today te
be en the lookout for two teams, stolen In
Yerk county last night The one mare Is
gray in color and the ether sorrel with white
face. They were hitched te square-box
buggies, with blue cloth lining. Up te 1
o'clock nothing bad been seen by our efUcen
of the stolen teams.

Last evening Philip Flery was te have
been beard before Alderman Dennelly of the
Eighth ward en the charge of deserting bis
