Monday afternoon when a member of the
Lancaster bar cal led at Alderman McGUnnV
office In behalf of Ida Shubert, charged with
the larceny uf her sister's bracelets and petti
coat, bntli Ida's sitter and mother were In
the alderman's eltica. The sister, Mrs. Kate
Baumgardner, wished te withdraw the com
'plaint, because she had discovered that the
bracelets had net been stolen, but were
found in a bureau drawer in her own heue,
and that the girls were in tbe habit of wea-.
lag each ethers petticoats as convenience re
quired. The alderman however would net
allow the complainant te withdraw the com
plaint, and even threatened te send her te
jail unless she had the costs, about (S,paid by
1 o'clock, and would net even set a tluie for
Ida'a hearing.
