A Terrible Accident,
Werd has been received in town of the
terrible death of Henry M. Mosey, employed
as conductor en the Individual cars el the
Vesta furnace, a resident el Marietta, but
being well known In Columbia. The accident
occurred in the liarrlsburg yards at one
o'clock this morning while Mosey was attend.

Jehn Zioekard, sr., an old resident of C ol el
umbla, had a severe fall yesterday afternoon
'en the Icy pavement in front et the First
National bank. The left ankle was severely
sprained, making It impossible for Mr.
Leckard te stand upon It, Ue had te be
taken te hla home Fourth and Locust streets
in a wagon. It Was at first thought that the
leg waa oreaen, nut alter examination it was
found a sprain mi the result which will con
fine him te his house for some weeks.

James Henry, a colored man In the em

Sledding On the Side Walks.
The chler of police, by direction of the
mayor, has Issued an order te the policemen
te step sledding en the sidewalks. A num.
ber of accidents and narrow escapes were re
ported te the mayor, by reason of such sled
ding, and the above order la the result.
Prosecutions Withdrawn.
The prosecutions for malicious mischief
and surety et the peace against Henry Reldel
brought en Thursday by Oscar Heheln, be
fore Alderman Fordney, were withdrawn
this morning and the costs paid.
