The Chester Valley Ministerial association,
made up of pastors of the Methodist church
residing In Linci'ler county, with a few
from Chester county, met statedly at St.
Paul's Methodist church en Monday even,
lng. The sermon was preached by Kev. J.
W. Bradley, of Gap, te a large cengrega

The business sessions wete held te-dsy.
The morning sossleu was opened with
devotlensl exerclses, after which the pallers
submitted reports of the sermons preached
by them last Sabbath. The reports showed
that prelrscted meetings are being held with
geed result .. .......
The first topic for discussion was, hero here
in lies the secret el the success of the special
evangelists r The first speaker was Kev. A.
Oak os. He staled that churches all made
great exertions when evangelists were te
conduct services, but that the great success
of evangelists was that they were specially
adapted for that work. He mentioned
Meedy, Sam Jenes and Thes. Harrison, the
boy preacher, as successful evangelists.
While they were successful as evangel
ists, they did net cenMder that tney
would be successiul as regular pastors.
Rev. Heed said that evangelists as n rule
preach te Christians and net te tbe uucon uucen

a church unless they have the support of the
Christian members. He thought that there
should be evangelists tn eery conference,
under the direction of the presiding elder, te
be sent te all the churches and net only te the
rich churches te gain popularity. The reason
for thelr great success Is the methods applied

previous speaker said. He belleed
pastors could secure the same success If they
did the same kind of work as evangelists

The Afternoon S'Mleu.
The afternoon session opened with devo

can be done te stir up Ged's people te the
greatest faith" Rev. OAkes delivered an
