Iforsethietes were busy last niplit In tills
county, south or this city, and .dtheui;li three
horses were stolen, the thletes tere se
closely pressed that they only get at ay w 1th
oneot the teams. The first place tlsitetl
by the thieves was the barn of C McAllister,
near New Danville. This team was taken
butabandoned by thethieteseu the Stump
tow n read. The next barn reached lielotiK lieletiK
ed te a farmer named Uarui-b, aud the teitn
stolen there was abandoned at the Kunnlug
Pump.
The third place lsited was the farm of
Jehn H. Myers, at New Dant tile, aud a dark
brown mare, with two white legs, white
forehead, heavy mane and tail, 7 jears old,
an old buccy and a set of harness were
stolen. The thiees were traced te this city
and from the descriptions git en are Jee Buz
zard, Jee Gretrand William Weeder, who
are well known criminals. The la-st seen of
the thieves by their pursuers was In front
of the Lamb hotel, en Seuth tjueen street,
but the farmers were afraid te arrest them
and went te the station house and reported
the whereabouts of the thietes. Ofllcers
Leman and Wenninger weredetalled te leek
ier them, but they were unable te And
them.
Chief Smith sent out pestals with a de
scription of Mr. Myers' team te all the
neighboring cities.

plained when Mr. A. Kline, In an excellent
address, presented the pastor ttitli a crayon
portrait of himself, (the jmster). The man

The portrait is the gilt of the young men
lately confirmed, and la the work of one of
their number, Artist K. F. Hamaker. The
portrait is an exact likeness of the pastor, is
beautifully finished and reflects the hand et
an artist of much skill. Mr. Hamaker, is a
rising yeuugartist. He is graduate from
the studio of Abraham, Lancaster, and all
his work has received high praNe from the

has made. The pastor appnciaies the gilt
