The horse was coming directly for the coach,
and the nurse seized the child, removing It

horse kept en down Fifth street, running
down the bank at the milt dam of the Col
umbia Heur mill, at the end of the street. At
this place the horse rolled about in the mud,
but Boen jumped up the bank and ran a
short distance down Mill Btreet, where It was

last Saturday night, at the olllce of Squire
Frank, en the charge of stealing n revolver
from a boy, named Jeseph Ellswerth. It
wasproved that Richardson took the revolver
from the boy, but gave it te the boy's mother.
The accused was discharged.
Officer Gilbert arrested a tramp, giving his
name as Jeseph Roberts for stealing tour
teen razors from Maxwell Moere, a colored
barber. The razors were found in his pos
cession, lie was given a hearing last Satur
day befere Squire llershey and was sent te
Jail ler a trial at court.

The contract for the erection of the new
church for St. Paul's Protestant Episcopal

urday. This morning the demolition of the
old building upon the let, where the new
church will be built was commenced, A
meeting of the congregation of this church

The Churches of Ged, of Washington and

hanna rolling mill, had his back severely

various ways. The latest ordinance pt-ed
by our ceuncllmen was te pave lUiubridge

action, and ere long we may take either side
and go te tbe depot. A great many buildings
are being erected at present here, while
many are contemplated. All this adds te the
beauty et the tewu. But we bellee the bet
ter plan would be te Invest some of
this surplus capital In seme enterpnie
which would employ numerous hands
and increase our population, our business

be worth while te erect dwellings for rent
