Accidents of the Fourth.
Frank Michael, an eight-year-old son of
Frank D. Michael, living en Third street,
Was sheeting off fire crackers, en Monday af
ternoon. The boy held a "hlaser" in bis
band and received tbe force of tbe powder In
his face, lie was soverely burned about the
eyes. Tbe left eye is very badly burned and
considerable of tbe powder eutered tbe optic.
Tbe right eye is also Injured, but net as bad
aa tbe ether one. Or. I, Kingsten attended
tbe injuries, and la of the opinion that tbe
algbt is net destroyed by tbe ponder.
Charles McClaln, a 9-year-old son et Jacob
McClaln, living en Union street, while at the
Blcnie of tbe Columbia Fire company at
else's weeds, was en tbe platform during
an intermission. Seme ene shot oil a revol
ver. The bullet struck tbe boy in the right
leg below the knee, taking a dqwnward
course and coming out about four Inches
below whom It entered. The Injury was at
tended by Dr. Livingston, who found that
tbe bone of tbe leg was net injured by the
bullet.
Other Casualties.
Yesterday afternoon Ambrose It. Dunkel,
employed at Grubb's stene quarry, was en
gaged in coupling cars when tbe cars came
together with such force, that his right arm
was caught between the dead weeds and
very badly mashed from the elbow te the
wrist. The bone was also cracked and the
injury is a palnlul oue. Amputation will
net be necessary.

day morning, the Hull brothers occupied
the points for Columbia. They wero badly

glossy, and the smoking rpidlty quite supe
