panions. The business of snipping coal at the Read
ing it Columbia coal chutes, at Columbia, has
been very brisk for the past few days.
A free minstrel show has been in progress
near the corner of Third and lxraust streets
during the pa"t few evenings. The party
consists of three negre minstrel perleriners
and a female Impersonator, who are used te
advertise the remedies sold by ene of their
number. The medicine is warranted te be a
care for many diseases aud also a remedy for
warts and corns. The party is the same that
waa In Lancaster Berne months age, when
teeth were extracted without pain. This feat

tities of the medicine was sold and it is cer
tainly surprising that se many people can be

went te open the shatters when he was sur

rounded with an angry mob of blacks armed

ordered his family up stairs and brought
down his musket with several revolvers and
f laced them In the hands of the town gang.

Hurt by a Ileinb.
Rauink, Wis., June 10. At lUilO last night
a dynamite bomb was hurled ou the carriage
way te ex-Mayer M. M. Secer's house. The
bomb exploded with a reert that startled
tbe whole city. Mr. Secer droveover the
fuse that exploded the bomb about fifteen
minutes previous te the explosion. A Bo
hemian named Jamher whs severely hurt
as he was traced by bleed from bis wounds
for ever n mile and a half te the residence of
ex-Alderman Patice. He claims that he was
passing Secer's residence at the timoef the
explosion en hU way te the 11:10 train, en the
Isorthnestern railroad, but he will, no doubt,
have a chance te explain why he did net call
for help when se seriously hurt, instead of
running away.

Mrs. Chas. II. Tilteu, announced Monday,
was such a mysterious ene and occurred un
der such circumstances that an Investigation
was had, resulting in the arrest of Hank .Sny
der aud Chas. Burns. Mrs. Til ten was only
15y ears old, aud was married four months age
te the young man Tilton. Her maiden natne
was Campbell, and the license was procured
by her husband under representation that
she was 18 years old. The glrl-wite was
riding last Sunday with Burns. Hermether
and sister say it may be possible that her
death may have resulted from the ellects of
an assault upon her, said te lm e been made
by live young meu at Pecateulci, Illinois,
