at Columbia, handled the following number
el cars during the month of May: Number
el trains east, 1,1X6; leaded cam, 30.643;
empty cars, 1,071 ; total 3S,214. Number of
trains west 430 ; leaded cars, 11,057 j empty
ears, 24,700; total 30,453. Grand total 74,tilf7
car. This movement Is an increase of 3,451
cars ever April, 1830. and a doercase from
May, 1885 or 21,017 cars.

The regular monthly meeting of the Vigi
lant fire company was held last evening at
their engine house. An Invitation was re
ceived from the Mlddletewn 11 re company,

During his absence, as has been rejerted
