Sr. Charles '. Hickok, of Bedford, in a
lecture recently delivered there, introduced
the following, told him as he said by ex
Presldent Buchanan. The two persons
spoken of, theez-presldeut and the ex-arch-
bishop, both lived in this county In the ear

against Geergn P. Kltigh and Catb Catb
arlne B. Gabel, met this morning
at 10 o'clock. The suit is te recover
$1,200, the face value of u ptomissery uote
given te Miller, by Klugb, for money he bor
rowed from him. Tbe testimony taken
showed that Klugb absconded from the city
soiiie weeks age, and after his flight It was as
certained that be had forged a large number
or notes and raised money en them. Mrs.
Gabel, whose name appears en the above
note, Is a sister of Klugh's.
Mr. Miller was represented bv 11. C.
Kready and Mrs. Gabel by J. W. "H. Bans
man and A. 11. llershey. The note was
submitted te Mrs. Gabel nnd sbs positively
swore that she did net sign the note held by
Mr. Miller. On that note her iiame is spelled
Gable and she said she never spelled her
name that way. A large munlsT of notes
aud ether papers were submitted te her aud
she picked out these she signed. In the let
were his ether notes te which she said her
name was forged.
The arbitrators found in favor of Mrs.
Gabel, thus deciding that the note was forged.
The case will be appealed te court.
