The teachers of tlie public schools of Lan

lecturers into the regular school work. The
plan Is confined te the high school and is
of course in its infancy, but it does seem
reasonable that pupils should receive a cer
tain amount of instruction in this manner,
even whlleiu the public schools, ns thev nre
receiving the foundation ier f ut nre work and
the majority of teaching In colleges and
universities is bv lectures. Many students
complain of a lack of this training.
Heps It Come Kruiu a Well "
Atheugh a great deal of water has been
pumped from the cellars en Rast King street
they are by no means dry, as the water con
tinues te run in. It is almost certain that the
stream comes from an old well, which is
situated en the line between the property of
Hear A McXnbb and the Lancaster County
bank. It Is likely that the recent henvy rains
have caused the well te overflow.
