cured the service ofalawyer from .Lancaster
te leek after her side of the case, as she
claims that she could net legally have been
ejected from the heuse. The goneral opinion
ofBOme of the neighbors of Mrs. Eaten is that
this ejectment was due te the non-payment
of rent. The rent for the heuse was paid up
until the first day of July. The owner of
the heuse wished te regain his property and
the matter of rent was net taken Inte con
sideration. The furniture Is still standing
where the constable put Hand the owner of
the things declares that they will net be re

An Hungarian, giving his name as Jeseph
8worel7.sk, had a hearing befere Hqulre
Yeung last evening charged with the lar
ceny of (25, from Martin Bull, a resident or
the country near Ireuvllle. Tiie man was
also charged with an attempt te rape en the
complaint 01 Anne mm, a resident
of the same place. The man was
unable te speak or understand a word of
the English language, and the sorvices ei
Paul .lulinski wero required te act as inter
preter for the Hungarian. The alleged of
fence was committed en the night et Tues
day, August 4. The man Is employed at tbe
ere banks near Irenville. The evidence was
deemed sulllcietit te held the man for court

was washed from liis face aud head. It was

After the 'squire had questioned the man he
came te the conclusion that he did net knew
hew he was hurt Cering had been en a
drunk during the entire day and was Been
along the river shore It is supposed that lie
stumbled and fell upon seme cinders ou the
shore and cut his head in this manner.
