of Harrlsburg Grace church, proached a

A policeman in the neighborhood hearing

refused, and resisted all attempts by the
policemen te start his cab. The olllcer then
jumped Inte a passing buggy, and, after an
exciting chase, ovorteok the highwaymen,
and, undercover or his revelver, compelled
thorn te drive te the pelice station.

At a meeting of the stockholders of the
Schuylkill and Middlotewu Canal cenipany,
held in Philadelphia Thursday resolutions
were unanimously adopted authorizing the
prcsldonteftho company te apply te the court
of common pleas el Lebanon county for the
dissolution of the Union Canal company.
After this has been dene the canal will be
operatedundor the Iiame of the Schuylkill and
Middlotewu Canal company, IhoBteckholdeis
of which are the owners of all the stock of the
old Union Canal company.
