east as Strasburg. Tiiore was no storm in tlie

burg en the Salary Act.
The first Monday hi each month is tlie tlme
designated hy tlie salary act for tlie county
ofllcers te make their return of the fees
earned in their rospectivo oillces during the
preceding month. Since January tlie returns
have always been made early in the day.
Till morning, howevor, a decision hy tlie su
preeo court en tlie constitutionality of tlie
salary act was oxpectod, and the olllcers, with
the exception el tlie coroner and district
atterney, did net make any return until a
telegram had been received from Harrisburg
stating that no opinion had licen dolivered en
the salary act. Following is the amount of
