It appears that Watsen aus committed by Justice Evans, of Columbia, en suspicion of being oueof tlie LlnA-tlle burglars. When he Avas taken te the county prison he was identified as the colored man who escaped from that institution in June, 1873. Tlie prison-record shows that Watsen aviis sentenced en April 21, 1873, te underge nu imprisonment often months for larceny. He escaped en June 3, nnd remained away soA-eral j-cars.
