One or the Ktchest Brides In the Lnnd.
Idiss Mary Packer, the only surviving
child or the late Judge Asa I'acker, who
recently was married very privately te
.Charles II. Cummings, of New Yerk, at tbe
bride's palatial residence in Maurh Chunk,
baa, with her husband, cene Seuth. The
event has been anticipated by but very few
of the friends or the bride ind groom. Miss
Packer, new Mrs. Cummings, has perhaps
the largest annual income et any lady in the
United States, it being estimated at about
81,000 a day, te say nothing of the inceme
from the accumulations ofinterest en the
amount received since the death or her
father and her two brothers, Rebert and
Harry Jacksen. Mr. Cummings, the lucky
bridegroom, is, like Miss Packer's father, a
sell-made man. Starting as a conductor en the
Lehigh Yalley railroad, he has worked his
way up until he has become the head of the
New Yerk end of the enormous business of
thn read. He was the intimate friend or the
late President Harry E. Packer, and his rel
ations with E. P. Wilbur, the present presi
dent et the company, have been intimate and
confidential. Air. Wilbur and Mr. Cum
