Albert Libhard was put en trial for lar
ceny. The testimony of the commenu ealth's
wltnesses was that en the SOth of December
two kefrs of beer were stolen Trem Trederick
Manlick's broweiy at Ms -letti. A son or Mr.
Maullck sjw two men stalling the beer and
shot et thorn. One of the men was recognized
as Freest Uarnhart, who pleaded guilt v te
the larceny of the beer nfew days age. 'The
day after the thsft a search warrant was issued
and afceg of beer and an empty keg wme
found in the heuse of accused.
The defense was that en the night of the
30th of Deceuibcr, Uarnhtut came te the
heuse of accused and left n keg of beer thore,
saying, "thore is uomething for 'ew Year."
Libhard denied all knowledge et the beer
cavlncj been stolen aud claimed that vthen
the officer came with the uearch warrant he
told him about the beer having been left at
the house by Barnhatt.
The jury rendered a verdict of net guilty.
