the dynamite which bad been used was

from the western or upper side of the
bridge. At midnight tbe polieo bad
scoured the river for flve miles abeve and
as far below the brldge without finding
any olne te the perpetrator et the attempt,
and all hope has practieally been aban
doned of any immediate discovery f the
dynamiters.

ment in the crowded vicinity was intense.
