William A. Prier, whose home la aix miles
btlew Elkton, was crossing the ruiliead at
that pnint, when the vehicle wasstiuek by
the Washington and New Yerk expre,

horse killed, aud Prier aud two ehildren,
Katie Duliiift, aged 0, and Rebert Jems,
aged 7, occupying tbe wagon with lilui,
wme picked updead and horribly mangled.
Prier's body, with part of tbe wCjjed,
was leund nearly 300 yards from the cress
lug, while the children lay .bout 100 feet
from the seoeo of tbe aoeideut. The beise
was tbrev.n nearly as far. The girl's head
was crushed, while the boy was shockingly
mangled about tbe head aud etberwlte
irjured. Net five minutes before the acci
dent Prier had geed naturedly pleked up
tbe children en the read, where they were
walking with their mothers. The unhappy
women diil net see the collision, but they
reached the npet shortly afterwards and
their grief was heartrending.
Prier's body was brought te Elkton, and

homes of their parents.
