The monthly meeting of Union soldiers
who were Inmates of Seuthern prisons
was held en Monday evening. A large
number of new membcts, principally from

row of fenr story brick buildings adjoin

house were threo large stores whleb. were
also burned out. One was oeeuplcd by F.
II. Tenner, a butcher, another by Geerge
llheads, who kept the Bothlehcra Iren
company's store, and who valued his stock
at (40'000, and the third by II. L. Jacobs.
William Wirt's liquor store In the bloek
adjoining the opera heuse, was also de
stroyed, and Milten Liwler's hardware
stere was damaged te the oxtent of $10,000

green grocery stere of J. II. Fahs wero
considerably damaged.
