county of Pitt, In the utate or North

sum of $20, for which he holds my note,
te be due ou the 11th day of
January, 1881, and te hociue the
payment of the same I de horeby convey
te him these articles of personal property
te wit : Myself te work with him long
enough te pay this debt ; but ou this
special trust, that If I fall te pay haid debt,
right away, then he, the sad Taker, or his
assigns, may sell mu at the court heuse
deer, for credit or cash, as hu thinks
best, after giving twenty days' publle
notice, at three public places, aud apply
the proceeds of Hitch sale te the diehargi
of said tlebt, aud Intoiesten the same, and
cost and expenses of making sueli sale,

Ilaude failed te pay the amount due
Taker, and the creditor was at literty,
under the terms of the deed, te sell him at
publle auotleu. Some tlme before the ex
piration of the twenty days' grace allowed
the mortgaged debtor, the news get out,
and the court heuse green was crewded
with poeplo, expecting te witness the uovel
sale of a whl te man. Au injunction was
granted by the superior court, and no sale
took place. The supreme court will hear
the case.
